COVID-19, aka the Coronavirus, has been the cause of so many cancellations in Hollywood over the past few weeks.

However, one major event, the Met Gala, is continuing as scheduled despite all these recent COVID-19 cancellations.

“We are proceeding as planned and look forward to a wonderful evening,” Nancy Chilton, the chief external relations officer of the Costume Institute told The Cut.

The Gala is currently scheduled for May 4, the first Monday in May.

Claire Danes is revealing that is was very difficult to use the bathroom in her 2016 Met Gala dress, designed by Zac Posen, and now she’s revealing which celeb helped her out!

“People still also talk about the dress you designed for me for the 2016 Met Gala,” Claire told Zac in an interview for Town & Country. “I mean, they talk about it as one of the most remarkable things that I’ve ever done in my life. And I’m sort of like, ‘Well, I have an amazing friend.’ But I was glad that we got to share that.”

Claire added, “I was careful not to imbibe any liquids, because the bathroom situation was not easy. I remember I went in there before it was too crowded, and Uma Thurman was in the bathroom and she helped me.”

About the dress, she added, “It was great on the red carpet, but it really came alive inside the museum. People’s mouths would just fall open, it was so pretty.”

The 2020 Met Gala‘s theme has officially been revealed: About Time: Fashion and Duration!

The New York Times is describing the theme as “inspired in part by the novels of Virginia Woolf and the theories of the early-20th-century French philosopher Henri Bergson, whose admittedly somewhat obscure but also important musings on time posited it as a constantly mutating stream rather than a series of discrete moments.”

The co-chairs this year include Louis Vutton artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, Anna Wintour, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emma Stone and a big special addition – Meryl Streep! This will be Meryl’s first time attending the annual event.

The 150th anniversary of the Met Gala will take place on May 7, 2020.

Kylie Jenner is speaking out to respond to what Alex Rodriguez said about their conversation at the 2019 Met Gala last month.

In his Sports Illustrated cover story, the 43-year-old former baseball player said that at the gala, “Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is.”

Now, Kylie is saying that this is not true.

“Umm no i didn’t. We only spoke about Game of Thrones 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️,” Kylie said in response to the interview.

Alex Rodriguez just revealed that he needed to lose 6.5 pounds in just two days to fit into his tuxedo for the 2019 Met Gala!

The 43-year-old former baseball player made a video for his YouTube channel that documented his prep for the gala, which he attended with fiancee Jennifer Lopez.

“I have this crazy pink tuxedo that Jennifer and Versace is making me wear, and I need to lose exactly 6.5 pounds. I’m taking two yoga classes and running the stairs for an hour. And I haven’t eaten in 24 hours,” he said in the video.

While being fitted for the big event, he started lifting weight and quipped, “I used to exercise for big games against the Red Sox, now I exercise to not look fat.”

Alex normally wears a size 48 tux, but he had to slim down to fit into a 44.

The 2019 Met Gala was a star-studded affair – and it raked in a fortune for the museum!

The gala, held on Monday night (May 6), raised $15 million for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, according to a museum representative on Wednesday (May 8).

The event brought in $13 million in 2018.

If you didn’t know, the Met Gala is the museum’s main source of annual funding for exhibitions, publications, acquisitions and capital improvements.

The Costume Institute Gala Benefit this year celebrated the opening of the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” exhibition, and was hosted by Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, Gucci designer Alessandro Michele, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

The party wasn’t over when the 2019 Met Gala ended and tons of stars changed their outfits to head to after parties… including Kim Kardashian and Serena Williams!

The two stars joined forces with Travis Scott, Trevor Noah, and La La Anthony to host Up&Down’s 6th Annual Met Gala After Party with owner Richie Akiva on Monday night (May 6) in New York City.

Some of the many stars who attended the event included Kim‘s husband Kanye West and sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, models Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, and Hailey Bieber, as well as actresses Tiffany Haddish and Tracee Ellis Ross, and designer Alexander Wang.

Stars sipped on Perrier Jouet champagne and Casamigos cocktails. The hosts surprised guests with a late-night snack from McDonald’s. The evening was sponsored by luxe cannabis brand Kurvana.
