Tennis star Novak Djokovic, who has won 17 grand slam titles over the course of his career and is currently ranked number one in the world in men’s tennis, has revealed he is “opposed to vaccination.”

He revealed that if getting a future Coronavirus vaccine becomes necessary for him to be able to compete in any upcoming tennis tournaments he would “have to make a decision.”

“Personally, I am opposed to vaccination and I wouldn’t want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel,” the 32-year-old athlete said during a Facebook live chat Sunday with Serbian athletes (via TMZ).

“But, if it becomes compulsory, what will happen? I will have to make a decision. I have my own thoughts about the matter and whether those thoughts will change at some point, I don’t know,” he added. “Hypothetically, if the season was to resume in July, August or September, though unlikely, I understand that a vaccine will become a requirement straight after we are out of strict quarantine and there is no vaccine yet.”

Novak actually almost retired from the game once before.

The 32-year-old Serbian tennis player won the Australian Open for the eighth time on Sunday (February 2).

Novak wore a “KB” embroidered on his jacket, as well as the numbers 8 and 24 in honor of Kobe, calling him “close in my life” and a “mentor.”

“This is a reminder to all of us that we should stick together, now more than ever, being with our families, stay close with the people that love you…of course, we are part of a professional sport. We compete and try our best, but obviously there are more important things in life. It’s important to be conscious and humble about things that are happening around you,” he said after his win.

Novak Djokovic dances with a group of kids at the 2019 Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Saturday (August 24) in Flushing Meadows, New York.

The 32-year-old tennis star was joined at the event which serves as a kick off for the U.S. Open, by fellow tennis champion Rafael Nadal.

Rafael will be playing his first round in the 2019 U.S. Open on Monday (August 26) while Novak will play his first on Tuesday (August 27).

Also in attendance at Kids’ Day were performers Meg Donnelly, Ava Max, Austin Mahone, and MAX, as well as Meg‘s co-host JD McCrary.

The 32-year-old Serbian tennis player launched the special edition set in collaboration with the Novak Djokovic Foundation, and it includes a StarWalker Metal Fineliner and Notebook #146 Indigo Blue both featuring his signature.

Proceeds from the new Special Edition gift set will benefit Novak Djokovic and his foundation, will give children from disadvantaged communities the opportunity to receive a quality education.

Novak Djokovic is set to begin his 2019 US Open defence against Spain’s Roberto Carballes Baena. Djokovic is the defending champion and also won the US Open in 2011 and ’15.

The 32-year-old Serbian tennis player went for a shirtless dip in the ocean while vacationing with his family on the beach on Monday (July 29) in Marbella, Spain.

Novak was spotted even enjoying a venture into the ocean on a kayak before returning to the beach with his wife Jelena and their two children, Tara and four-year-old Stefan (not pictured).

Novak is fresh off winning the men’s singles final over Roger Federer at 2019 Wimbledon, he defeated the 37-year-old Swiss star during two straight sets.

The 32-year-old Serbian tennis player defeated the 37-year-old Swiss star during two straight sets on Sunday (July 14) at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, United Kingdom.

Novak won the championship’s first ever fifth-set tiebreaker, 7-3, after they played to 12-12 in the final set.

This was also his fifth victory in a row over Roger, and his fifth straight in Grand Slam play. Roger last defeated Novak back in 2012.

Rush of Blood to the Head is an exhibition currently at the Maddox Gallery, showcasing the works of influential American artist Brendan Murphy in his first solo UK show.

Brendan is most famous for his chalkboard-style artworks, with vast surface areas filled with writing reflecting different emotions.
