People have been saying that Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Bridgerton on the Netflix series Bridgerton, acts with her neck and she’s aware of the comments!

The 25-year-old actress addressed the comments while speaking with L’Officiel for the magazine’s February 2021 issue.

“I didn’t even know I was doing it, but I think with the corset—and my need to express Daphne’s anxiety—there was a lot of sort of tense neck action,” she said.

Phoebe explained the emotions that she was trying to convey as Daphne.

She said, “It was about displaying two different emotions and not making her feel like this sort of Disney princess—that everything’s great, because she’s scared and vulnerable underneath all of that wide-eyed naiveté.”

Phoebe recently responded to rumors that she’s dating one of her handsome co-stars.

Phoebe Dynevor is finally clarifying the status of her relationship with her co-star Regé-Jean Page amid rumors that the pair may have been dating while filming Bridgerton due to their amazing on-screen chemistry.

“I’d love to say there was really something between us, but no, it has always been strictly professional,” the 25-year-old actress clarified to You magazine, “There was so much pressure on us to get it right that it was all about the work. We have a really professional working relationship. I’m glad for that, actually. It would be very complicated if it went further.”

Phoebe Dynevor is opening up about working with Rege-Jean Page on Bridgerton.

The 25-year-old Daphne Bridgerton actress spoke with Glamour in a new profile and shared that Rege was the “perfect Simon.”

“He’s very polite and gentlemanly and all the things that Simon is…” Phoebe continued. “Well, Simon’s a lot more than gentlemanly and polite. But Regé definitely had that composure of a Regency man. I saw it straight away.”

She also says that she has learned a lot from working with Rege so closely on the Netflix show.

“I think we worked really well together, and I learned a lot from him. We have different acting styles, so we bounced off each other in that respect,” she says. “We both were on the same page about the characters and what their relationship was. I loved working with him.”

A big question that Phoebe is getting a lot with many of her interviews about Bridgerton is what Rege smells like, too.

“Why have so many people asked me that?” she mused in the interview. “He smells really, really nice. He never, ever had bad breath, and he doesn’t smoke or anything like that.”

Phoebe added, “We both drink a lot of coffee, so sometimes we both smell like that, which was fine. He’s unscented in a good way.”

Previously, Rege opened up about how coffee was his “vice” on the set of the show.

“I’m a being of caffeine when I work. It is a vice, but as far as vices go, I’ll take it,” he recently told Netflix Queue. “We had a very, very nice coffee van that had very, very friendly people in it. It was my escape spot at every given moment of the day.”

Julie Anne Robinson, the director of the Bridgerton pilot, is opening up about how they found the show’s leading actors, Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor.

Robinson previously worked with Shondaland when she directed episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal. She also directed the pilot of The Catch and was an executive producer on that show.

In an interview with Deadline, Robinson said she worked closely with Shonda Rhimes on casting.

For Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, Regé was always the top choice. He previously was on the Shondaland series For the People. She said, “Shonda always always wanted Regé. The person I am proudest of casting is Phoebe because we did see A LOT of people for that role. I saw her on tape. and I was just taken by her because she is so captivating.”

Phoebe was actually the first actress to read with Rege!

“We managed to have this magical audition process with Shonda there where we put them together and I was able to direct them,” Robinson said. “Regé was already pre-decided but Phoebe came in and read. She was fantastic and got the role.”

Robinson didn’t initially see the sex appeal in Regé, but now she does! She said, “It’s interesting about Regé, I hope he is not offended by this but I never saw him as a sex symbol. I always saw him as a serious actor, very committed, a caring professional. And now look at him, I mean goodness me. It’s incredible, I hope he is the next James Bond.”

A second season of Bridgerton has been officially confirmed and fans want to know more about what they can expect to happen.

Series creator Chris Van Dusen has revealed that the second season will focus on Jonathan Bailey‘s character Anthony Bridgerton and his quest for love. This was also revealed in an announcement that Netflix made in the style of Lady Whistledown.

Van Dusen said on The Today Show, “We’re really going to be [focusing on] the eldest Bridgerton brother next season, Lord Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey. We left him at the end of the first season at a bit of a crossroads, so I’m looking forward to jumping in and discovering how he fares on the marriage market.”
