Inside Photos from Prince Philip's Funeral - See the Royal Family at St. George's Chapel

Photos have been released from inside Prince Philip‘s funeral, which was held on Saturday afternoon (April 17) at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England.

Queen Elizabeth arrived at the funeral separately from other family members, who walked in a procession behind Philip’s coffin from the castle to the chapel. She sat all by herself during the ceremony and we learned the reason why.

Only 30 people are attending the funeral service due to COVID-19 restrictions and the guest list had to be cut down from the planned 800 people that would’ve attended in normal times.

Some of the guests included Philip‘s four children – Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward – and his grandchildren, including Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and more.

William and his wife Kate Middleton sat on opposite sides of the chapel from Harry, though they were seen chatting with each other while leaving the ceremony.

Queen Elizabeth Is Sitting Solo at Prince Philip's Funeral - See Photos from Inside the Chapel

Queen Elizabeth experienced the emotional funeral of her husband Prince Philip while sitting by herself.

The 94-year-old Queen of England was seen sitting solo in the pews of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday (April 17) in Windsor, England.

The Queen arrived at the funeral in her State Bentley separately from the rest of her family, who walked in a procession behind Philip‘s coffin, which was carried to the chapel in a custom Land Rover vehicle that he helped design.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all members of the royal family who reside in different households were seated in socially distanced areas of the chapel.

“She will have to sit alone because as things stand in this country if you haven’t been in a bubble. which is a self-selecting group of people over the course of lockdown, you can’t come within six feet of them,” NBC News royal contributor Daisy McAndrew said. “So that’s the situation the queen will find herself in today. She’s been in sort of a bubble here at Windsor Castle with 22 members of the household and Prince Philip.”

Only 30 people are attending the funeral service due to COVID-19 restrictions and the guest list had to be cut down from the planned 800 people that would’ve attended in normal times.

Queen Elizabeth Lays Down Rule For Prince Philip's Funeral: No Military Attire

Queen Elizabeth has just banned military attire at Prince Philip‘s funeral, this coming weekend.

According to The Telegraph, the monarch laid down the rule after many questions were raised over if Prince Harry would be the only member of the Royal Family not to wear them.

Harry was stripped of his honorary military titles once he stepped down as Senior Royal.

In order to keep the focus on honoring Prince Philip, the Queen has advised all senior male royals to simply wear suits and ties and dispatch with the uniforms.

The matter was brought up following a report that Prince Andrew had made the request to wear his own uniform.

Andrew had stepped away from royal duties in 2019, after his association with Jeffrey Epstein was made more public. However, his military status was never stripped of him.

The details of Prince Philip‘s funeral were made public a few days ago.

Queen Elizabeth Returned To Royal Duties Just Four Days After Prince Philip's Death For This Reason

Queen Elizabeth has returned to her royal duties just four days following the passing of her husband, Prince Philip.

The 94-year-old sovereign made an appearance at Earl Peel‘s retirement ceremony.

Earl William Peel had been the Queen’s Lord Chamberlain, the household’s most senior official, who is retiring after 14 years of service.

As reported last Friday, Prince Philip died at the age of 99 and the Queen was said to enter a traditional period of eight days of mourning.

After the eight day period of mourning, a longer period of Royal Mourning is expected. The country is also expected to enter a 10 day mourning period. Royal households will mourn for 30 days.

Guardsmen will wear black armbands on their tunics throughout that time period.

If you missed it, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, has opened up about Philip‘s final moments.
