The royal family has released a new photo of the late Prince Philip, along with Queen Elizabeth, with his great-grandchildren.

The photo was taken in 2018 by the Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton).

You can see the family looking very happy including from left to right, Prince George, Prince Louis being held by Queen Elizabeth, Savannah Phillips (standing in the back rear), Princess Charlotte, Prince Philip, Isla Phillips holding Lena Tindall, and Mia Tindall at a family gathering.

Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99 last week and his funeral will be held this weekend. Find out if Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte will be in attendance at the service.

A photo of Queen Elizabeth giggling alongside Prince Philip in uniform has gone viral following the death of the royal on Friday (April 9).

In the photo, the late Prince Philip can be seen in military uniform, including a tall bearskin hat. And while photo went viral with a caption suggesting that it was a “prank,” that is not actually the case.

Queen Elizabeth‘s daughter-in-law Sophie, Countess of Wessex is opening up about how the Queen is doing following the death of her husband Prince Philip.

Sophie and her husband Prince Edward, who is the Queen’s youngest child, were spotted paying a visit to her on Saturday (April 10) at Windsor Castle in England.

While leaving the castle, Sophie was seen in tears while speaking to Sky News correspondent Rhiannon Mills through the car window.

Queen Elizabeth is mourning.

The 94-year-old monarch will mourn her late husband of 73 years across an eight-day period, and will refrain from carrying out royal duties during this time, People reported Friday (April 9).

The royal wedding took place on November 20, 1947 at Westminster Abbey in London, United Kingdom. Philip was made Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich on the morning of the wedding. Find out more about his royal titles over the years.

After the eight day period of mourning, a longer period of Royal Mourning is expected. The country is also expected to enter a 10 day mourning period. Royal households will mourn for 30 days.

Guardsmen will wear black armbands on their tunics throughout that time period.

Things got a little awkward before Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s wedding!

In ITV’s new documentary The Day Will and Kate Got Married, baker Fiona Cairns recalled some of the difficulties with getting the royal couple’s wedding cake into Queen Elizabeth‘s home, Buckingham Palace.

To bring the eight-tiered, three feet-tall fruit cake into the reception venue, the baker’s team had to remove a door at the Palace.

While Fiona and the team were putting the finishing touches on the cake, Queen Elizabeth paid them a visit, and made an unexpected and awkward comment.

“I can remember her saying, ‘I hear that you’ve been dismantling my house,’” Fiona recalled in the documentary via People.

“And I said to her, ‘Well, we had to take a door down from the room below for the trolley to go through with the cake,’” Fiona continued. “But it was all put back so in the end, it was fine.”

The enormous cake, which was served at Will and Kate‘s wedding in April 2011, lasted beyond just the reception.

Pieces of the cake were served at Will and Kate‘s three children’s christenings, with it most recently being served at Prince Louis‘ christening in 2018.
