Samantha Morton Says She's 'On the Mend' After Being Hospitalized

Samantha Morton is providing a health update with her fans after being admitted to the hospital on Monday night (January 4).

The 43-year-old The Walking Dead actress and two-time Oscar nominee took to her Twitter to thank the frontline healthcare workers in the United Kingdom that are taking care of her while in the hospital.

“Thank you to all the A and E staff at the Conquest who helped me tonight,” Samantha tweeted. “I’m so grateful for our NHS, to see the red zone first hand and the nurses and doctors being so kind and wonderful to us all was humbling. I’m ok tonight because of them.”

While she didn’t say why she was hospitalized, Samantha did add the hashtags “#WearAMask” and “#COVID19″ to her posts.

“I’m on the mend. I’ll get there and thank you so much for the well wishes 🕯🙏🦋#SaveOurNHS #WearAMask,” Samantha followed up while also sharing a selfie in her hospital bed while wearing a face shield and mask.

Ian Holm's Daughter-in-Law, Samantha Morton, Pays Tribute to Him in Touching Post

Samantha Morton is paying tribute to her late father-in-law Ian Holm following his death.

The 43-year-old actress, who is a two-time Oscar-nominated actress for her work in Sweet and Lowdown and In America, took to Instagram to post about Ian.

“The most inspiring, funny, generous, welcoming father-in-law I could have hoped for. Good night Ian,” she wrote in her post.

Samantha has been in a relationship with Ian‘s son Harry Holm since 2007 and they share two kids together. She is also well known for her work in the TV series The Walking Dead, as well as in the movies Minority Report and Synecdoche, New York.

Ian was best known for playing Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings film franchise. He passed away on Friday (June 19) following a battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Rooney Mara Replacing Carey Mulligan in Spike Jonze Movie?

Rooney Mara may be joining Spike Jonze‘s upcoming movie, opposite Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Samantha Morton.

The 27-year-old actress “is in final negotations” after Carey Mulligan had to drop out of the project due to schedule conflicts, Variety‘s Showblitz reports.

The movie centers around “a man who falls in love with the voice of a computer.”

Rooney would begin working on the film after she wraps up shooting Steven Soderbergh‘s The Bitter Pill with Jude Law, Channing Tatum, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
