Eddie Murphy Refused to Portray Bill Cosby on 'SNL 40' - Read the Explanation

This past weekend, Eddie Murphy‘s appearance on SNL 40 had many viewers upset that he did not bring back a classic character or tell jokes – and the reason is because the writers wanted him to portray Bill Cosby.

Former SNL cast member Norm MacDonald took to his Twitter to explain everything that went on behind the scenes at SNL 40.

“Among many other things, this show was to be the return of Eddie Murphy.” Norm wrote. “He knew the laughs would bring the house down. Eddie Murphy knows what will work on SNL better than any one. Eddie decides the laughs are not worth it. He will not kick a man when he is down.”
