LeBron James is sharing the first footage from the upcoming Space Jam sequel!

The 36-year-old basketball player took to his Instagram to share a super quick clip from his upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is a follow-up to the 1996 Space Jam starring Michael Jordan.

Also starring in the sequel are Don Cheadle and Sonequa Martin-Green, as well as Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and more. Some other basketball players expected to make cameos include Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, and Kyle Kuzma.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is scheduled to be released on HBO Max and in theaters on July 16.

The 35-year-old Los Angeles Lakers player took to Instagram to unveil the new Tune Squad basketball uniform that he will be wearing in the upcoming Space Jam 2: A New Legacy.

“Tune Squad coming soon!! 👀🔥🐰,” LeBron captioned the video, which first debuted during an event for his LeBron James Family Foundation.

LeBron just announced that the movie will be called Space Jam: A New Legacy and it will be hitting theaters everywhere on July 16, 2021.

'Space Jam' Scene Predicted NBA Would Suspend Season for Health & Safety of Players

A scene in the 1996 movie Space Jam predicted that the NBA would suspend the entire season until they could ensure the health and safety of the players.

The clip from the movie is now going viral after the NBA has announced the season has been suspended due to the the coronavirus outbreak. A player has tested positive for Covid-19.

“After meeting with team owners, I have decided that until we guarantee the health and safety of our NBA players, there will be no more basketball this season,” the NBA commissioner says in the scene.

Michael Jordan starred in the movie Space Jam, which also starred the Looney Tunes characters. The film was a huge box office hit and there has been talk of a sequel happening in the future.

Space Jam 2 has an official release date!

Warner Bros. announced on Thursday (February 21) that the film starring LeBron James will be hitting theaters on July 16, 2021.

It was announced back in September 2018 that the 34-year-old NBA pro will be starring in the sequel to the 1996 original that followed Michael Jordan teaming up with the Looney Tunes to win a basketball match and earn their freedom.

Black Panther director Ryan Coogler will be directing Space Jam 2 while Eric Bauza will voice Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, and Duane Franke will be Water Boy.

LeBron James is joining the Space Jam sequel!

The 33-year-old basketball player’s production company, SpringHill Entertainment, revealed the first glimpse of the exciting project on Wednesday (September 19).

In the first teaser, LeBron‘s name appears on one of the lockers in a basketball locker room.

Other names include Bugs Bunny, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, who is producing, and Terence Nance, who is directing.

Eric Bauza will voice Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, and Duane Franke will be Water Boy.

The 1996 original followed Michael Jordan teaming up with the Looney Tunes to win a basketball match and earn their freedom.

LeBron James is reportedly attached to star in Space Jam 2!

The 31-year-old basketball star will star in the remake with Justin Lin currently in talks to direct, Variety reports. Justin and Andrew Dodge are writing the script.

The first Space Jam movie came out in the 90s and starred Michael Jordan and several of the Looney Tunes in an epic basketball battle against some bad aliens.

LeBron has been rumored to be part of the project for some time.
