Emerald Fennell just heard the rumor that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, might watch The Crown!

In the report, published by Vanity Fair, a source shared that the Duchess, who is married to Prince Charles, does watch the Netflix program.

“I imagine she’ll be tuning in with a glass of red wine to watch it, she has seen the previous series,” an insider said. “She has a wonderful sense of humour and this won’t fuss her in the slightest.”

While promoting her new movie, Promising Young Woman, Emerald, who plays the young Duchess on screen, reacted to the rumor about Camilla.

“Does she?! I didn’t know!” she said to ET Canada.

Emerald added that the thought of Camilla watching was a big “nerve-wracking. I didn’t realize that but I hope she approves.”

While the rumor that Camilla watches The Crown is still a rumor, this member of the royal family actually does watch!

Netflix has issued a statement about including a warning ahead of The Crown.

The streamer will actually not be putting a warning ahead of the trending series, which would let fans know that the show is a work of fiction, because, they claim, viewers already know that.

“We have always presented The Crown as a drama – and we have every confidence our members understand it’s a work of fiction that’s broadly based on historical events,” Netflix said in a statement to Deadline. “As a result we have no plans – and see no need – to add a disclaimer.”

This comes after star Helena Bonham Carter, as well as UK Culture secretary Oliver Dowden, criticized the show for not explaining that.

“It’s a beautifully produced work of fiction, so as with other TV productions, Netflix should be very clear at the beginning it is just that,” Mr. Dowden shared in a recent interview. “Without this, I fear a generation of viewers who did not live through these events may mistake fiction for fact.”

The recent season, which concentrates on the heated relationships between Queen Elizabeth and Margaret Thatcher, as well as Prince Charles, Princess Diana and Camilla Parker-Bowles, includes dramatized events that may or may not be fact.

Helena Bonham Carter is weighing on the controversy surrounding The Crown.

Earlier this month, Princess Diana‘s brother, Earl Spencer, called out the program after seeing the depiction of his sister on the Netflix show.

British politician Oliver Dowden, who serves as the U.K.’s Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, also spoke out about the hit show, and urged Netflix to put a disclaimer before episodes of The Crown to tell viewers that the series is a fictionalization and they should not take the show for absolute truth.

Helena, who played Princess Margaret in seasons three and four, is now speaking out and supporting the concerns.

“It is dramatized,” she stated. “I do feel very strongly, because I think we have a moral responsibility to say, ‘Hang on, guys, this is not…it’s not a drama-doc, we’re making a drama.’ So they are two different entities.”

Helena did add though that the research that series creator Peter Morgan does before each season is impressive.

“That is amazing, and then Peter switches things up and juggles,” she adds.

The bulk of season four concentrated on Prince Charles and Princess Diana, as well as Charles’ alleged affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Spoilers ahead. Sarah Horsley, the widow of Major Hugh Lindsay, is calling out Netflix‘s The Crown for the portrayal of her husband’s death in season four of the show.

In 1988, Major Lindsay was killed by an avalanche while skiing with Prince Charles in Klosters, Switzerland. In episode nine of the show, you can see the avalanche, but you do not actually see the death of the Major.

“I was horrified when I was told [the episode] was happening and was very concerned about the impact on my daughter,” Sarah told the Sunday Telegraph. “I’m very upset by it and I’m dreading people seeing it.

“I wrote to them asking them not to do it, not to use the accident,” she added. “I suppose members of the Royal family have to grin and bear it, but for me it’s a very private tragedy.”

She added that she received “a very kind letter” from producers saying “that they understood my concerns but they hope I will feel that they deal with difficult subject matters with integrity and great sensitivity”.

She did add, “I think it’s very unkind to many members of the family.”

Producers did opt to keep this major royal moment out of the season.

One member of the royal family has admitted to watching The Crown!

Mike Tindall, who is married to Queen Elizabeth‘s granddaughter Zara, has admitted he needs to catch up on season three.

“I need to catch up,” Mike said on The Good, The Bad, and the Rugby podcast. “I actually saw the advert for it and I was like, ‘Ooh, I need to catch up.’ Because I only got about halfway through season three, so I started watching season three last night and then I’ll catch up. But I’ve seen it all over the place, and on these popular midday TV shows.”

“I’m quite intrigued to see where they go with it because obviously, it’s an era people are fascinated with,” he said. “It’s getting to more things that people know about, isn’t it, and have opinions about — so that’s where it gets difficult.”

He did remind everyone that it IS fiction, saying, “It’s a drama, so it’s going to be made to be a bit of a drama.”

Emma Corrin is the breakout star of The Crown season four thanks to her work as the late Princess Diana.

In a new interview with GQ Hype, the 24-year-old actress was asked what she thinks Diana‘s sons Prince William and Prince Harry will think of the show.

“I can’t imagine,” Emma told the mag. “I’d be interested to know what they think,”

Emma has no interest in meeting the royals though. She said, “If I ever saw them at a party, I’d probably leave!”

Sadly, we’ll only get to see Emma in the one season of the series. “It’s a shame,” she said about her brief appearance. “I’m sad about it. But I’ve moved on…”

In another interview, Emma revealed why she had to be hospitalized while filming The Crown.

Josh O’Connor is talking about the new season of The Crown.

During a new interview, the 30-year-old actor – who plays Prince Charles – explained why he doesn’t believe that Charles is the villain of season four.

My job is to resist that in some ways,” Josh shared with Entertainment Weekly. “My Dad was an English teacher and I grew up learning Shakespeare through him. One of the things that he used to say about all Shakespeare’s villains was that, whether it’s Richard III or Iago, they don’t believe themselves to be villains. They believe that what they are doing, their life’s work, is for the greater good and it makes sense to them.”

“So, just as with the Shakespeare villains, I didn’t want to play the character of Charles as a villain. I don’t think he is,” Josh explained. “I think he is someone who is very lost, as we see in season 3. He’s the same person as in season 3. He needs something from Diana that she can’t offer him, just as she needs from him something that he can’t offer her. So, it’s a tragedy really. Yeah, I was really conscious not to play the ending as it were.”
