Keanu Reeves is talking about the new Matrix movie.

The 56-year-old actor opened up in an interview with BBC’s The One Show on Thursday (September 17).

During the interview, the actor called the upcoming Lana Wachowski-directed film “inspiring.”

He added that Lana wrote “a beautiful script that is a love story.”

“It’s another version of a kind of call to wake up and it has some great action…all will be revealed,” he mysteriously teased.

One thing the film won’t be is a prequel, he said.

“No, no. No going in the past,” he confirmed.

The Matrix 4 is currently filming in Berlin after pausing due to the pandemic.

Carrie-Anne Moss is returning as Trinity, as well as Jada Pinkett Smith.

New cast members include Neil Patrick Harris, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra and Jessica Henwick. One star recently explained why they’re not returning to the series…

The Matrix 4 is expected to hit theaters in April 2022.

Earlier this month, Keanu was spotted filming a motorcycle chase scene with co-star Carrie-Anne Moss.

Despite going public with the relationship back in November 2019, one of Alexandra‘s friends is dishing on her relationship with Keanu, revealing the couple has been together “for years”!

Lead stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss were spotted shooting scenes for the highly anticipated sequel on Sunday (February 16) in San Francisco, Calif.

The two were seen filming what looked to be an intense late night motorcycle ride. Keanu was seen throwing up a peace sign to the cast and crew as they passed by, while Carrie-Anne had a big grin.

Keanu is returning as Neo, and Carrie-Anne is back as Trinity in the film, which is expected to hit theaters on May 21, 2021, and being directed by Lana Wachowski. Click here to see more set photos!

Jonathan Groff has booked his next movie role!

The 34-year-old Mindhunters star and voice of Kristoff in Frozen 2 has signed on to join the cast of The Matrix 4, Collider reports.

As of right now, Jonathan‘s role in the Lana Wachowski-directed movie is being kept under wraps.

As previously reported, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return for the movie, and it’s been speculated that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play a young Morpheus.

Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jessica Henwick are reportedly in talks to join the movie.

The Matrix 4 isn’t expected to hit theaters until 2022.

Jessica Henwick is the latest reported star in talks to join the cast of Matrix 4!

The 27-year-old Iron Fist actress is reportedly in talks for a lead role in the upcoming movie, Deadline reported on Wednesday (October 16).

According to the report, she “performed quite strongly during the audition process. There’s been buzz around town that Matrix 4 director and co-scribe Lana Wachowski is looking to have a female-like Neo character at the forefront of the new film.”

As previously reported, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return for the movie, and it’s been speculated that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play a young Morpheus.
