Blake Shelton Jokingly Accuses Another Coach of Getting Adam Levine Fired from 'The Voice'

It has been years since Adam Levine has been on The Voice and now Blake Shelton is placing blame on another judge for his ousting from the show.

During the final episode of blind auditions on Monday (March 22), Blake was trying to get a contestant to pick him instead of Kelly Clarkson, who was the only other judge to turn the chair.

The contestant, Keegan Ferrell, sang a rendition of the Maroon 5 song “She Will Be Loved,” which is one of Adam‘s biggest hits.

“First of all, I happen to be buddies with the guy who wrote and sang that song. And I want you to look for just a second at this coaching panel and take note at who’s missing and who’s in that chair. Now I’m not saying that Kelly Clarkson got Adam Levine fired, but he’s gone and she’s sitting there, okay,” Blake said.

John Legend then pointed out that Kelly also has a talk show on NBC and Blake said, “This network stands for Nothing But Clarkson. NBC.”

Blake then said, “If Maroon 5 inspires you, I don’t know that I would choose a coach that is their arch-nemesis.” Kelly pointed out that she’s toured with Adam and then Blake added, “And then you got him fired.”

In the end, Keegan picked Blake!

Adam Levine Throws Some Shade at Blake Shelton & 'The Voice' During Instagram Q&A

Adam Levine did a Q&A on his Instagram Stories on Monday (December 28) and he threw some shade at The Voice and his former co-star Blake Shelton.

The 41-year-old singer left the show after the 16th season, which aired in early 2019. Him and Blake always had a friendly rivalry and some of the comments he made in the Q&A could just be a continuation of that.

“Did you miss Blake on The Voice last season?” one fan asked. Adam responded, “Blake who?”

Someone else said, “Come back to The Voice?” Adam replied, “No thank you?”

Someone asked, “Which of Blake‘s album is your favorite?” Adam responded, “Who is this Blake you speak of?”

A fan asked, “How did it feel to be the Sexiest Man Alive back in those days?” Adam answered, “Totally silly, but flattering.” Another fan then asked, “Do you think Blake also being the Sexiest Man Alive was a People‘s downgrade.” He responded with the “100″ emoji.

NBC Issues Statement About Why Ryan Gallagher Was Kicked Off 'The Voice,' He Responds & Denies It All

The Voice‘s Ryan Gallagher was disqualified from the show ahead of this past week’s episode during the live rounds.

Now, NBC has released a statement explaining that the singer breached Coronavirus safety protocols to keep everyone as safe as possible while the pandemic is still ongoing.

NBC and MGM said in a statement (via People), “Ryan is a talented artist, however The Voice has strict Covid protocols in place to secure a safe set for our crew, coaches and contestants. We were made aware of a breach in those protocols, and after examining the situation, and out of abundance of caution, we determined that Ryan could not participate in our Monday night show without potentially putting others at risk. Therefore, we made the difficult decision to remove Ryan from the competition.”

Ryan‘s rep responded in a statement, denying this.

“Last Sunday my client Ryan Gallagher, who was a leading contender as part of Kelly Clarkson’s team on the current season of NBC-TV’s The Voice, was dismissed by NBC and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios for an alleged violation of the show’s Covid 19 protocol. In my opinion, nothing could be further from the truth.” Michael Catalano told the outlet. Michael added that Ryan “understands all too well how serious the Covid 19 pandemic is in this country and around the world. In fact, recently Ryan‘s mother in Michigan was hospitalized with Covid 19 and was in ICU for three weeks. It was a scary time for Ryan and his family and he certainly would not knowingly put anyone at risk by not adhering to the show’s Covid 19 policy.”

“As you can imagine there is more to the story here than the show has announced and at an appropriate time and place of our choosing Ryan will respond to these damaging allegations,” his manager continued. “Ryan, whose performing career began at age fifteen as a backup singer for Josh Groban in Michigan, has been devastated by the show’s dismissal. A career as a singer/performer has been his life-long dream.”

Ryan‘s rep concluded, “Ryan is so touched by the massive outpouring of support he has received from thousands of viewers who were hugely disappointed by the show’s actions and are vowing to support him in his future endeavors. He remains very, very appreciative. Thank you for your continued support of Ryan Gallagher during this difficult time.”
