Vanessa Carlton's 'A Thousand Miles' Is Actually About A Famous Hollywood Actor!

Vanessa Carlton is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her hit song, “A Thousand Miles”.

The 40-year-old musician is looking back at the iconic song and revealing for once and for all, just who the subject is that she’s singing about.

“The song is about a crush I had on a Juilliard student,” Vanessa shared. “I can’t say the person’s name because they are a famous actor and I don’t want to say it.”

In her documentary with Vice, Vanessa says she’s not attaching a gender to the crush on purpose.

“I’m purposefully, I’m not attaching a gender and it will remain like that,” she says, adding to the speculation of which actor it is about.

Vanessa also spoke about how it’s taken her a long time to really like the song again.

“I figured out how to make peace with that song, how to honor people’s connection with that song and realize that song does not belong to me anymore,” she says. “That allows me to move forward as a musician.”

Vanessa just recently dropped her sixth studio album.

Vanessa Carlton Slams Chris Brown for Posting Her Song on International Women's Day

Vanessa Carlton has slammed Chris Brown for sharing a video of her song “A Thousand Miles” on his Instagram account on International Women’s Day.

Chris posted the video and said, “Mood. This song lit forever.”

Vanessa responded by posting a statement on her Instagram account that said, “Today Chris Brown posted my video. I am now being repeatedly tagged to his account. Being that today is International Women’s Day I feel compelled to draw a line. I support survivors, not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today. Thank you.”

Chris was arrested in 2009 for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Chris responded to Vanessa‘s post by saying, “I posted a song that was and still is a great song and the artist felt she was doing her duty as a WOMAN to continue to spread this kind of hatred today. I won’t keep it up long. I just hope she knows she is loved and her song is great.”
