If you didn’t want to cough up the $30 to watch Mulan at home when it premiered on Disney+ back in September, you can now watch it for free if you have a subscription to the streaming service!

It has been three months since the premiere of the movie and the regular theatrical release window has passed, so the movie has been made available for all members to watch.

The Blu-ray, 4K, and DVD versions of the movie were released four weeks ago and if you want to see all of the bonus features, you should grab a copy!

Chinese actress Yifei Liu plays the title character in the live-action remake of the Disney film and there’s an exciting cameo that you might have missed if you watched the movie already.

Make sure to listen to Yifei‘s version of the song “Reflection,” which she sings in Mandarin.

Yifei Liu is sharing some behind-the-scenes footage and secrets from Mulan with fans on her Instagram.

The 33-year-old actress revealed what went into getting that wall walking scene perfect and what she did to recooperate after hitting her knees against the beams.

“Thankful for hard shell knee pads…a smile and a cute dog could relieve the pain after I hit the beam with my knees…thanks @gostunts,” Yifei captioned.

In one of the pics in her slideshow, you can see Yifei sitting with oversized ice packs on both of her knees from the stunt.

If you watch the end credits for the new live-action remake of the Disney movie, you’ll get to hear Yifei‘s version of the song “Reflection.”

The 33-year-old actress, who is also known as Crystal Liu, is featured on the new movie’s soundtrack alongside Christina Aguilera and you can listen to her rendition of the song below.

The movie is now available to stream on Disney+ when you purchase Premier Access on the app. The film was originally supposed to be released back in March and we’re taking a look at the red carpet looks that Yifei wore to the premieres.

Yifei Liu, the star of Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan, was involved in a major controversy last year and now it has resurfaced amid more calls to boycott the film.

Back in August 2019, the Chinese actress voiced her support for the police in Hong Kong amid anti-police brutality protests.

On the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Yifei retweeted an image shared by the Communist Party’s page People’s Daily. The post said “I support the Hong Kong police; you can beat me up now” in Chinese and in English it added, “What a shame for Hong Kong.” She also added the hashtag “IAlsoSupportTheHongKongPolice” to her post, along with a heart emoji.

Amid the controversy last year, Yifei skipped an appearance at D23.

In an interview with EW, which was published this week, Yifei responded to the controversy. The outlet noted that her response was prepared and essentially repeated what she had already said about the matter.

“It’s obviously a very complicated situation, and I’m not an expert. I hope this all gets resolved soon,” Yifei told EW.

Pro-democracy supporters in Hong Kong are calling for a boycott of the movie due to Yifei‘s previous comments.

Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan is now available to watch on the streaming service Disney+, but you need to pay a $29.99 fee to gain access to the movie.

It has been nearly six months since the world premiere of Mulan took place, but audiences around the world are finally getting to see the movie!

Yifei Liu, who plays the title character in Disney’s live-action remake, looked like a real-life princess while walking the red carpet at the world premiere on March 9 in Los Angeles.

She looked amazing while wearing an Elie Saab gown, Chaumet jewelry, and Giuseppe Zanotti platforms.

Three days later, Yifei was in London for the UK premiere of the film, where she wore a black gown by Elie Saab. You can see tons of photos in the gallery!

Mulan‘s release date was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and Yifei revealed at the film’s world premiere that her grandmother was in Wuhan, the center of the outbreak.

Tzi Ma is opening up about the new live action Mulan movie and praising his on-screen daughter, Yifei Liu.

The 58-year-old actor stars as Fa Zhou in the flick, debuting on Disney+ this week, and in a new interview with Digital Spy, can’t say enough great thinks about Yifei.

“She gives her entire being. She embodies that spirit,” he shared about her role as the title character. “Her ability to connect with other cast members where you feel the chemistry of these relationships – familial relationships, the brotherhood.”

Tzi continues that he was blown away by her dedication to the training she underwent for the role, too.

“[The amount of] training itself, it’s ridiculous. Military training, combat training, stunt training, stamina training. And we all live in the same place, in the same hotel. We see each other every day. The boys are complaining. ‘Oh my god, I can’t walk, that killed me’. But not a word from Yifei.”

He adds, “She raises the bar, and I think (director) Niki (Caro) has said that in interviews. You’ve got to bring your A-game or you’re going to disappear in the scene…She’s kind. There’s no mean bone in this young lady.”

Tzi also opened up about how much the live action Mulan is going to mean to everyone, especially the Asian population.

“You’ll be proud of it,” Tzi says. “It is cinematic. It is meant for the big screen. But I’m relieved that finally the world is going to get an opportunity to see it. It’s really, really an amazing piece of work.”

He goes on, “I’m sure when [Asian diaspora] kids see it, immediately it’s going to happen here, in their minds – seeing someone who looks like them. Throughout the entire screen! Every character is going to look like you. It blows my mind. The film is a celebration. A celebration of culture, a celebration of family, a celebration of women’s contributions to our world. And you’re going to see – even more so than any other time – a group of men who are Asian, who are in so many different characters and sizes and shapes, and the camaraderie. I don’t think I’ve seen it like this ever in a Hollywood film.”

“I can’t even begin to tell you what that means to me.”

Mulan premieres Friday, September 4 on Disney+ for a nominal fee for streaming. It will be free to stream in December.
