Jerrod Carmichael Opens Up About His Sexuality in HBO Special 'Home Videos'

Jerrod Carmichael got very personal during his HBO special.

The 31-year-old actor and comedian released part one of his special Home Videos, where he sat down for informal and intimate conversations with his family.

Jerrod returned home to North Carolina, where he sat down with his mother Cynthia. During their conversation, Jerrod asked his mom to reflect on the affair her husband once had while they were still together.

Then Jerrod asked her if she ever had feelings for women. She said no, but it did lead Jerrod to reveal that he has had relationships with men.

“I’ve hooked up with dudes before,” Jerrod shared.

Cynthia then responded, “Well, OK. That’s your option. I like men.”

Their conversation then ended shortly after that, and Jerrod didn’t further didn’t discuss his sexuality.

The air date for part two of Home Videos has not been announced yet.

Jay Z is putting his own spin on 90s sitcom Friends!

The 47-year-old musician just shared the music video for his single “Moonlight” which parodies the show with an entirely black cast.

The videos stars include Issa Rae, Tiffany Haddish and Jerrod Carmichael.

The video is a takeoff on the series’ season three episode, “The One Where No One’s Ready,” which takes a dark turn when the fourth wall is broken.

Jerrod walks off set and is roasted by Hannibal Buress for letting network television use him for “diversity.”

'Carmichael Show' Canceled After 3 Seasons - Jerrod Responds

Sad news for fans of The Carmichael Show!

NBC has decided to cancel the comedy series after its current third season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Carmichael Show was such a wonderful show that we choose to focus today not on its loss but on the three incredible seasons we had the pleasure to produce,” 20th Century Fox Television presidents Jonnie Davis and Howard Kurtzman, who helped produce the show, said in a statement.

“We are thankful to the brilliant Jerrod Carmichael and his talented cast, and to showrunner Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, our fantastic writers and devoted production team,” they went on. “It’s a rarity that a comedy series tackles the social and political issues of the day in such a clever and hilariously funny way. This show was special, and we will miss it.”

“For three seasons (okay 2.5), I got to make a show that I love with my friends,” co-creator and star Jerrod added. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was 13. Now, I’m excited to go make other things that I love. Thank you to every person who worked on or watched The Carmichael Show.”

The Carmichael Show‘s finale will premiere in August.

Anthony Hopkins Joins Mark Wahlberg & 'Transformers' Cast At Chicago Premiere!

The cast of Transformers: The Last Knight had themselves a big premiere last night (June 20)!

Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Santiago Cabrera, and director Michael Bay all hit the red carpet together at the Civic Opera House in Chicago, Ill.

Looks like blue was a major theme for the Transformers: The Last Knight world premiere!

Stars Josh Duhamel and Mark Wahlberg both suited up in blue while walking the blue carpet on Sunday (June 18) in London, England.

The guys were also joined by co-stars Laura Haddock with husband Sam Claflin, Isabela Moner, Stanley Tucci with wife Felicity Blunt, and Jerrod Carmichael, as well as director Michael Bay.

She’s very, very supportive.” the 23-year-old Saturday Night Live star expressed (via ET) while attending The Natural Resources Defense Council’s STAND UP! for the Planet benefit on Tuesday (April 25) at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts with Cazzie, who is Larry David‘s daughter, by his side.

While making an appearance at 2017 CinemaCon‘s The State of The Industry: Past, Present and Future’ Presentation on Tuesday (March 28) in Las Vegas, the 45-year-old actor and Peter announced that they’re moving forward with their next project Mile 22 as an action franchise at STX Entertainment.

“It’s an intelligent, adult action film,” Mark expressed (via Variety), adding that he and Peter want to make the first film as the start of a trilogy. “I still don’t feel like I have the movie, the role, that defines me.”
