Alicia Keys is debuting a new look!

The 39-year-old entertainer took to the stage for a performance at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, which aired on Wednesday (October 14) and took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Alicia debuted her new blunt bangs while stunning in a glittery, silver jumpsuit for her performance of her new song “Love Looks Better.”

The song is the latest single off of Alicia‘s new self-titled album Alicia, which she released in early September. You can listen to the album here!

The performance marked Alicia‘s first return to the Billboard Music Awards stage since her 2012 duet with Stevie Wonder.

The 39-year-old Alicia singer played a game of “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” with James Corden on Wednesday night (September 23).

During the game, James asked Alicia to rank the singing voices of her former co-coaches on The Voice, from best to worst.

“Gwen Stefani is best,” she said.

“Gwen Stefani is best, Adam Levine is second and Blake Shelton is the worst,” she answered with a laugh.

She was also open about her expenses, revealing the most she and husband Swizz Beatz have ever paid for a piece of art is $600,000.

The 39-year-old singer-songwriter held one of her very first performance since releasing her new studio album, ALICIA, as part of a special livestream event with American Express UNSTAGED on Friday night (September 18).

Fans across the world were able to enjoy the experience, and Card Members had the opportunity to unlock an enhanced streaming experience with “Behind the Stream” content after the performance, where Alicia discussed her inspiration for the album as well as candidly responding to questions from fans.

Alicia Keys is revealing one of her beloved songs almost went to Christina Aguilera.

The 39-year-old singer-songwriter opened up in an interview with Stereogum.

During the chat, they discussed the Alicia Keys-penned “Impossible” for Christina‘s Stripped.

“There’s a really funny, amazing story around this song. I think we were on the same label at the time. She reached out and was like, ‘Would you write something for me?’ And then it came through so many emails. What a voice! I know I could write something fire for her. So time passed and I hadn’t written the song yet. And [the label] was like, “Do you have anything for Christina?’ I remember I had just recently written ‘If I Ain’t Got You,’” she explained.

“I told my A&R at the time, ‘Let’s play her ‘If I Ain’t Got You.’ He said,
Are you f-ing crazy? We’re not giving her that song. Are you out your mind?’ [Laughs] I was like, ‘Why not? I’ll write a hundred more of those, it’s fine. I think she should hear it. I don’t really think it’s a big deal.’ But I thought, ‘Fine, I’ll go write another song.’ So I went off and wrote ‘Impossible.’ I went to cut it with her and I love how she sounded on it. It was such a cool vibe for us to be able to work together during those times. But I will never forget that I would have given away ‘If I Ain’t Got You.’ Isn’t that crazy? So that’s a good story.

“I cut the vocals with her because I produced everything. So it’s really important to be in the same space to just get all the energy. That was great. She sounded so good and she’s very special too,” she continued.

Alicia Keys has officially released her seventh studio album, which is a self-titled project called Alicia.

The 39-year-old singer also has a brand new book, “More Myself,” which she says is a companion piece to the album.

“The book takes you up to today and the music takes you from today on,” she said on Good Morning America this week. “It’s definitely about all sides of us as people.”

“I have so many sides to myself — we all do — and I’ve been embracing that on this music, so you’re going to love it,” she added. “It’s going to take you to many places and many reflections.”

Alicia Keys is responding to being featured on Tim and Fred Williams‘ now viral YouTube series where they listen to songs they’d never heard before and react to them.

During this week’s video, Tim and Fred tuned into Alicia‘s infamous song “Fallin’”, which went on to win the Best R&B Song category at the 2002 Grammy Awards.

Alicia also won for Song of the Year, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best New Artist, and Best R&B Album that year as well.

As they listened, Tim and Fred agreed that Alicia is “a cold blooded killer”.

The twin brothers also mused that she was just way too good on the track and hypothesized that the only reason she could be that good was because she is a robot.

Alicia later laughed at the comment, replying to the guys on Twitter.

“It’s not the first time I’ve heard people call me a robot but I promise I’m not 🤣😂🤣,” she wrote.
