Amy Klobuchar has announced that she has withdrawn from consideration to be Joe Biden‘s running mate on the democratic ballot this November.

The former V.P. has previously announced that he will be picking a woman to be his Vice Presidential nominee and Amy thinks he should pick a woman of color.

“America must seize on the moment and I truly believe — as I actually told the VP last night when I called him — that I think this is a moment to put a woman of color on that ticket,” Klobuchar said on MSNBC. “And there are so many incredible, qualified women. But if you wanna heal this nation right now, my party yes, but our nation, this is a helluva way to do it.”

Klobuchar‘s name has been in the news lately following the death of George Floyd in her home state of Minnesota. Her time as chief prosecutor for Hennepin County has been scrutinized because of the lack of prosecutions she pursued in police brutality cases.

“I think I could’ve functioned fine and there’s a lot of untruths out there about my record and now is not the time to debate those,” she said in response to a question about her past record.

Last week, Biden revealed what will happen if Trump loses the election and refuses to leave the White House in January.

Senator Amy Klobuchar‘s husband John Bessler, 52, is currently hospitalized with Coronavirus.

“John started to feel sick when I was in Minnesota and he was in Washington D.C. and like so many others who have had the disease, he thought it was just a cold. Yet he immediately quarantined himself just in case and stopped going to his job teaching in Baltimore. He kept having a temperature and a bad, bad cough and when he started coughing up blood he got a test and a chest X-ray and they checked him into a hospital in Virginia because of a variety of things including very low oxygen levels which haven’t really improved. He now has pneumonia and is on oxygen but not a ventilator,” the 59-year-old politician wrote.

She continued, “While this is his story and not mine, I wanted to let my colleagues and constituents know that since John and I have been in different places for the last two weeks and I am outside the 14-day period for getting sick, my doctor has advised me to not get a test. As everyone is aware, there are test shortages for people who need them everywhere and I don’t qualify to get one under any standard.”

“I love my husband so very much and not being able to be there at the hospital by his side is one of the hardest things about this disease,” Amy added.

Senator Amy Klobuchar is suspending her presidential bid and will be endorsing Joe Biden for President.

She will reportedly be appearing alongside former Vice President Joe Biden tonight at a rally in Texas, CBS reports. She will formally endorse him there, ahead of Super Tuesday which is where 14 states will all go to the polls to help decide the nominee to run against Donald Trump.

Pete Buttigieg also suspended his race just hours before after the results of the South Caroline primary came in.

Saturday Night Live parodied the latest Democratic debate – and there were so many stars involved in the hilarious skit!

The sketch aired during Saturday’s episode (November 23) of SNL, which was hosted by Will Ferrell.

Maya Rudolph played Kamala Harris, Rachel Dratch played Amy Klobuchar and Fred Armisen played Michael Bloomberg, while Woody Harrelson and Larry David played Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, respectively.

Kate McKinnon played Elizabeth Warren, Colin Jost played Pete Buttigieg, Chris Redd was Cory Booker, Bowen Yang was Andrew Yang, Cecily Strong was Tulsi Gabbard and Melissa Villasenor was moderator Rachel Maddow. Will Ferrell played Tom Steyer.

The fifth debate between 2020 Democratic presidential primary candidates is happening on Wednesday evening (Nov. 20), beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

The event is taking place at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, and is being co-hosted by MSNBC and The Washington Post.

The all-female moderator team includes Rachel Maddow, Andrea Mitchell, Kristen Welker and Ashley Parker.

The candidates participating are Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, California Sen. Kamala Harris, businessman Tom Steyer, Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and entrepreneur Andrew Yang.

To watch, a live stream will air on WashingtonPost.com and MSNBC.com, as well as their respective apps. The debate will air until 11 p.m. ET.

The 2020 Democratic Debates are continuing on Thursday night (September 12).

The third Democratic debate will be televised live beginning at 8 p.m. ET from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.

To qualify for the third debate, candidates must have received donations from at least 130,000 unique donors and earned 2% or more support in at least four national polls through August.

The debate will air on ABC and Univision. ABC News will livestream the debate on ABC News Live, as well as on Roku, Hulu, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube, Apple News, Facebook, Twitter, and the ABC News, Good Morning America and FiveThirtyEight websites and mobile phone apps. Univision News will also livestream the debate on all digital platforms including Facebook, YouTube and Periscope.

The debate candidates will be: Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Cory Booker, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Senator Bernie Sanders, Former Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Kamala Harris, Andrew Yang, Former Representative Beto O’Rourke and Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro.

George Stephanopoulos, David Muir, Linsey Davis and Jorge Ramos will moderate the debate.
