Gwen Stefani is taking it one day at a time.

The “What You Waiting For?” superstar opened up about her engagement and plans for a wedding with Blake Shelton in an interview with Wonderland. Magazine.

“I would love to get married, but I want my parents there, so that’s hard to plan,” she confessed.

“We have three kids in school and at home on Zoom, so hopefully that will end for them. But there’s not a lot of plans, I just want to put this record out!” she continued.

“There was an amazing need to have a pause, I think, that we didn’t even know could be possible.”

She also talked about Blake‘s career: “[He’s] kind of a phenomenon over here. He’s had 28 No. 1 radio hits and has been on The Voice for 20 seasons. Not to brag, but,” she gushed.

The now-engaged couple are a bit taken back after they realize they were set up on a date, as they work together.

Turns out, it was Adam Levine, who set them up – after a spotty video call that is.

T-Mobile teases that you shouldn’t “trust your love life to just any network”.

Blake and Gwen, who starred on The Voice with Adam in seasons past, have been dating for five years and just got engaged a few months ago.

“I had no idea, obviously. In fact, I was trying to get out of going to Oklahoma because it was getting too complicated with COVID and the family,” Gwen explained of Blake‘s proposal. “I was like, ‘I think we should just cancel the trip.’ It was one of those. Then we got it together and we ended up going. [Our family] was all there.”

Miley Cyrus is putting her name in the mix to be the wedding singer at Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton‘s upcoming nuptials.

The 28-year-old singer and Gwen, 51, had a conversation just last week following Miley‘s NPR Tiny Desk (Home) concert.

After Gwen complimented Miley‘s performance, she replied “When my hero’s tweet me I get horny.”

“omg your crazy!! blushing… gx #theclimb,” Gwen responded back.

The exchange then led to Miley‘s offer to sing at her and Blake’s wedding when it happens.

“ALSO @gwenstefani @blakeshelton I’ll be your wedding singer!” Miley wrote. “I promise to be on my best behavior. Or worst. whatever you want!”

Blake recently joked about Adam Levine, who was a longtime coach on The Voice with Blake and Gwen, to play at their wedding.

The couple also spoke about how Blake‘s proposal was almost ruined and how he is planning to lose some weight before they say “I Do”.

While chatting with close pal Luke Bryan on his Apple Music Country show Party Barn Radio, the 44-year-old country singer and The Voice coach revealed that he hopes to lose some weight before his wedding to Gwen Stefani.

“I feel like if I say 10, I have to do it. So, 10. It’s out there now, I can’t let people down,” Blake said.

Blake added, “I’ve readjusted all the mirrors in the house. So they look like you when you’re taking a selfie from up above because you can’t even stand and look at myself in the mirror.”

“I’ve rearranged them or they’re kind of angled down, looking down at me,” Blake joked. “So I’m looking up and it’s not so bad.”

After five years of dating, Blake proposed to the 51-year-old singer in October 2020 during their trip to Oklahoma.

The 44-year-old country superstar reacted to criticism of his latest track, “Minimum Wage.”

During an interview with CMT, Blake reacted to those who took offense to the track due to Blake being a millionaire and seemingly romanticizing money troubles amid the pandemic.

“Girl, lookin’ at you lookin’ at me that way / Can make a man feel rich on minimum wage / Girl, your love is money, your love is money / Yeah, your love can make a man feel rich on minimum wage,” he sings.

“I just feel like these days, there are people out there who don’t want to know the truth. They just want to hear what they want to hear, and they want to pick a fight. No matter what your intention is, no matter what the truth is, they want it to be something that they can be upset about so that they can get on social media and try to grab a headline,” he said in response to criticism on social media.

He added that he thought he “missed something” offensive in the song, and said the backlash “was really not real.”

“Whatever this backlash is, is just four or five people that probably don’t know anything about country music. They clearly hadn’t heard the song or read the lyrics. If they had, they couldn’t feel this way about the song,” he explains.

“It’s literally a love song about how if times are tight and you ain’t got much money — as long as you have love and you’re happy — at the end of the day, that’s all any of us can really hope for. You got it if you got that. That’s all that matters. And if that’s offensive to you, then we’ll just have to agree to disagree,” he continued.

“I have to say, if we have to start thinking like this, then I guess that’ll be where I have to bow out. Because that’s one of the longest-standing traditions in country music is lyrics about love. And if you’ve got love, then that’s all that matters. There won’t be much left to play or write about on country radio if this is something that we have to think twice about.”

He added that he has “some of the best memories” when he was struggling for money at the start of his career.

“If I was making minimum wage back then, it was barely minimum wage,” he explained.

“I just related to the lyrics so much, you know? Just like probably 95 percent of artists out there, I struggled for so long to get by. But at the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade those times for anything. Those days when the big struggle was, ‘Man, do I pay my rent or my electric bill, or do I just say screw it and go buy some beer?’ You had to decide because you didn’t have enough to go around.”

Gwen Stefani is opening up about the lead up to her engagement with Blake Shelton.

In case you missed it, in October Gwen and Blake announced their engagement on Instagram. The pair began dating in 2015 when they both served as coaches on The Voice.

In an interview on The Tonight Show Tuesday (January 6), Gwen told host Jimmy Fallon she was wondering why it was taking the country-singer so long to propose.

“Wasn’t expecting it at the moment that it happened, at all,” she told Jimmy. “Didn’t have any idea, nobody knew. I think he had told my dad on my birthday about two weeks earlier, and I gotta tell you, I was sorta like, What’s happening with us?”

Gwen added, “It was kind of in my mind like, We’ve been together a long time now. What’s going on? I was in that place in my head.”

Gwen also hinted that it would be a while before the pair were married, as they want to wait until after the pandemic to hold an official ceremony. She joked, “It’s like, Blake, why couldn’t you have done it before! Now we can’t have a wedding with the pandemic. It’s like sitting around going, OK, drag it out more!”
