Earlier during the pandemic, Dolly made a $1 million donation to Vanderbilt University in support of virus research.

Dolly Parton Was A Secret Producer on 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' & Fans Are Shook

Buffy The Vampire Slayer was one of the most popular television series during the 2000s and fans are finding out now that singer Dolly Parton was a secret producer on the series.

At the end of every episode of the iconic series which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan, Sandollar Entertainment is credited.

Turns out that the company was created by Dolly and her friend, Sandy Gallin, in 1986.

The company also produced the film of the same name as well as the spinoff, Angel.

“ACA-SCUSEME????” one fan shared on Twitter once they found out.

Another added, “I am literally losing my mind at this WHAAAAAAT.”

Dolly Parton Announces $1 Million Donation for Cure Research Amid Pandemic

Dolly Parton is helping out.

The 74-year-old country icon announced that she is making a sizable donation in the name of science amid the ongoing global health crisis on Wednesday (April 1).

“My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure,” she wrote.

“I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations.”

Dolly previously made headlines for saying that the pandemic is teaching us a lesson from God.

Dolly Parton Says That Coronavirus is a Lesson From God

Dolly Parton wants fans all over the world to keep the faith amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The 74-year-old country icon starts out singing in her latest Instagram, before switching to a sweet talk to her fans.

“I’m not making light of the situation. Well, maybe I am, because it’s the light, I believe, that’s gonna dissolve the situation,” she says. “I think God is in this, I really do. I think he’s trying to hold us up to the light so we can see ourselves and see each other through the eyes of love. And I hope we learn that lesson.”

Dolly continued, “I think that when this passes, we’re gonna all be better people. I know that I have a positive attitude about it, as negative as it seems to be right now. So just keep the faith, don’t be too scared, it’s gonna be alright, God loves us.”

Later this week, Dolly will be launching a new video series entitled “Goodnight With Dolly” which will see her reading children’s books that have been “carefully chosen for their appropriate content at this moment in time” on Thursday nights.

The series will launch April 2nd at 7:00 p.m. EST, on the YouTube channel for her Imagination Library, and will run for 10 weeks.

Dolly Parton Pays Tribute to Late Singing Partner Kenny Rogers

Dolly Parton has shared a tribute to the late Kenny Rogers, who was her singing partner for many years. He passed away from natural causes.

The country singer posted a one-minute video message on her Twitter account along with this message: “You never know how much you love somebody until they’re gone. I’ve had so many wonderful years and wonderful times with my friend Kenny, but above all the music and the success I loved him as a wonderful man and a true friend.”

Dolly said that she learned about Kenny‘s death while watching the news.

In the video, Dolly said, “I know that we all know that Kenny is in a better place than we are today and I’m pretty sure that he’s going to be talking to God sometime today… and he’s going to be asking him to spread some light on a bunch of this darkness. I loved Kenny with all my heart. My heart’s broken. A big ol’ chunk of it has gone with him today.”

“I think I can speak for all of his family, his friends, and fans when I say that I will always love you,” she added. While tearing up, she added, “God bless you Kenny, fly high straight into the arms of God. To the rest of you, keep the faith.”

Dolly Parton has some new dreams she wants to accomplish!

The “9 to 5″ singer opened up in an interview with 60 Minutes Australia on Sunday (March 8).

“Well, I don’t plan to retire,” she said when asked what her “retirement age” would be.

“I just turned 74 and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again,” she went on to say.

Dolly first appeared on the cover of the magazine’s October 1978 issue.

“See, I did Playboy magazine years ago. I thought it would be such a hoot, if they’ll go for it – I don’t know if they will – if I could be on the cover again when I’m 75.”

When asked if she would wear the same outfit, she said “Maybe. I could probably use it. Boobs are still the same,” she said, laughing.

Dolly Parton's Opry Special on NBC - Full Performers Lineup!

Dolly Parton is celebrating 50 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry with a special on NBC tonight!

The legendary country singer is going to be joined by a lot of celeb friends, who will perform some of Dolly‘s greatest hits during the show.

“A lot of people think this is my 50th year at the Grand Ole Opry. It’s actually been 60, because the first time I got to sing on the Opry, I was 13 years old,” Dolly said (via Variety). “But then the night that I became a member after I was working with The Porter Wagoner Show — and got to actually be a member 50 years ago this year — was one of the highlights of my whole life because it was a true dream of mine.”

Dolly will be performing a handful of her biggest hits during the show, including “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” and “I Will Always Love You.”
