It was reported this week that President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden‘s two dogs, Major and Champ, were sent back to the family home in Delaware after a “biting incident.”

Now, more details are emerging and we’ve learned that the dogs will return to Washington, DC.

“[Champ and Major] are still getting acclimated and accustomed to their surroundings and new people,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement to CNN. “And on Monday, the first family’s younger dog, Major, was surprised by an unfamiliar person and reacted in a way that resulted in a minor injury to the individual.” Major is a rescue dog adopted by the couple in November of 2018. He is the first rescue dog to ever reside in the White House.

A White House official added to NBC that “Yes, they will be back.”

This is not the first time the dogs have made headlines in recent weeks.

President Biden is marking a grim moment in the fight against COVID-19.

The President of the United States spoke to the nation from the White House on Monday (February 22) after it was confirmed that 500,000 Americans have now passed away because of the virus.

After speaking to the nation, Biden was joined by First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff for a candlelight vigil outside of the White House.

“We must end the politics and misinformation that’s divided families, communities and the country,” Biden said during his speech. “It’s cost too many lives already. It’s not Democrats and Republicans who are dying from the virus. It’s our fellow Americans. It’s our neighbors, our friends, our mothers, our fathers, our sons, our daughters, husbands, wives. We have to fight this together as one people, as the United States of America. That’s the only way we’re going to beat this virus, I promise you.”

Biden opened up about the tragedies he’s suffered while comforting those who have lost loved ones to the virus.

“For the loved ones left behind: I know all too well. I know what it’s like to not be there when it happens. I know what it’s like when you are there holding their hands, there’s a look in their eye and they slip away,” he said. For those that don’t know, Biden’s first wife and infant daughter died in a car crash and his son Beau died in 2015 after a battle with brain cancer.

The code names for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been unveiled, just shortly after being sworn in as President and Vice President of the United States.

The code names are a tool for the Secret Service to identify politicians, and their significant others with the same starting letter.

Many politicians have personally chosen their code names, which are thought to symbolize their persona or a way to identify something unique about them.

For Biden, and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, the President and First Lady have decided to keep the code names they once had as Vice President and Second Lady – Celtic and Capri.

For Kamala, she has specifically chosen Pioneer. This is a nod to her taking place in history as the first Black woman and Indian American woman in the role, CNN says.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who is Kamala‘s husband, his code name has not yet been made available. However, it will be starting with a “P”.

The two were joined by their children, Hunter Biden and Ashley Biden, and also by their adult grandchildren as they celebrated Joe‘s inauguration night.

Hunter‘s daughters, Maisy, 20, Finnegan, 21, and Naomi, 26, looked gorgeous in their beautiful dresses as they looped arms with their family.

Natalie, 16, and Robert “Hunter” Biden II, 14, are the late Beau Biden‘s children with his wife, Hallie.

Following Joe‘s speech during the program, the family gathered in the White House to watch the TV special with Hunter‘s youngest child, Beau, who he shares with new wife, Melissa Cohen.

Joe Biden watched the Celebrating America event from inside the White House with his immediate family, including grandson, Beau!

The 78-year-old President of the United States capped off his Inauguration Day on Wednesday (January 20) with the celebratory event which featured performances from Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springstreen, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato and many more.

While watching and holding youngest grandbaby Beau, who was named after his deceased uncle by dad Hunter Biden, Joe was surrounded by more of his family.

Dr. Jill Biden was seen by his side in a pretty white ensemble from Gabriela Hearst and matching mask, while granddaughters Maisy, Natalie, Naomi and Finnegan stood in back, next to Robert “Hunter” Biden II.

Earlier in the day, it was also revealed that after moving into the Oval Office, President Biden put up a handful of family photos, including a throwback one of his son, Beau, when he was a young child.

New President Joe Biden shared some sweet and heartwarming moments with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, during his Presidential Inauguration today (January 20).

The 78-year-old Commander in Chief and Jill, who is now First Lady, were seen sharing some hugs and kisses and holding hands while leaving and arriving to events throughout the day.

Ahead of his swearing in ceremony, Joe also shared a touching Instagram dedicated to Jill.

“I love you, Jilly, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have you with me on the journey ahead,” he captioned, sharing his sweet nickname for her.

Ahead of his oath, Jill was seen giving his shoulders a reassuring squeeze.

Joe and Jill‘s family – including their daughter Ashley, son Hunter, and grandchildren, Naomi, Finnegan, Maisy, Natalie, and Robert “Hunter” II – were also at the celebration.
