The 35-year-old actress appeared onThe Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday (January 11) for a virtual interview.
During her interview, Amanda revealed that her beloved Aussie-Border Collie mix, Finn, has become best friends with a baby duckling who lives on her farm.
“Does he not ever try to eat them, or bite at them?” Kelly asked, and Amanda said he doesn’t, and that they have a great relationship.
She also shared an adorable photo of Finn with the baby duck sitting on top of his head!
Along with the duck, Amanda also has ponies, horses, goats, donkeys, chickens, and a cat all living on her farm.
“You just described them all like a family. You described them like the characters in a film,” Kelly said.
“There should be a film made of them,” Amanda replied. “I should make that happen.”
The 38-year-old singer and talk show host covered one of Kacey‘s most iconic songs “Rainbow” on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week.
Kelly beautiful performed the track, which is off Kacey‘s album Golden Hour. Kelly was accompanied by her musical director, Jason Halbert, on piano.
“Well the sky has finally opened/ The rain and wind stopped blowin’/ But you’re stuck out in the same old storm again/ You hold tight to your umbrella/ Darlin’, I’m just tryin’ to tell ya/ That there’s always been a rainbow hangin’ over your head,” Kelly sung in the powerful chorus, amid political uproar in the nation’s capitol this week.
The 38-year-old “Since U Been Gone” singer’s The Kelly Clarkson Show now ties with Ellen Degeneres‘ The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the latest television ratings, via TVNewsCheck.
“Sophomore Kelly Clarkson, which was just renewed for two more years, was one of the few success stories in the session ending Dec. 13, and syndication’s only strip to hit a new season high. Clarkson ramped up 10% to a 1.1 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating and leapt into a tie with veteran Ellen DeGeneres for third place among talk shows for the first time this season. Ellen, which wrapped up its ’12 Days of Giveaways’ during the frame, declined 8% to a 1.1,” the outlet reported.
Huge news for fans of Kelly Clarkson‘s hit talk show – NBC just renewed The Kelly Clarkson Show for two more seasons!

The show will now run through 2023. Congrats to Kelly on this huge honor!
This isn’t the first time that Kelly Clarkson has performed “Shallow” from A Star Is Born, but she has someone very special by her side this time!
The 38-year-old Grammy-winning superstar performed the Oscar-winning song on the latest episode of her talk show, on which Garth Brooks was the special guest.
During Kelly and Garth‘s jam session, she raved about his rendition of “Shallow,” which he did with wife Trisha Yearwood. So, he insisted that they do it together!
Sadly, Kelly didn’t do the final verse with the big ending, but you can go watch her past performance to see her belt out those big notes.
During the December 14 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 38-year-old singer had Garth as a guest on the talk show and before he performed, Kelly opened up to him about how his song, “The Dance”, has been a positive impact on her life in the current moment.
“So I’m going through a divorce and there’s been like a lot of books and people always give you stuff to like help, especially when you have kids and stuff,” Kelly explained on the show. “And I know you’ve been divorced as well. It’s like, man, there’s so much shame and guilt, and everybody sends you stuff, and I was just kind of working through it.”
She continued, “I couldn’t quite nail down the feeling, I was like, you don’t want to crap on it, you don’t want to say that didn’t count or matter, but you don’t know what to put in it because it didn’t work out how you wanted,” she continued. “I kid you not, I was listening to my playlist and ‘The Dance’ came on and I was like, that’s the thing.”
Kelly also revealed to Garth that “The Dance” even inspired a brand new song on her upcoming album, and promised him it’s not “a ripoff.”
“I literally wrote this whole thing therapeutically for me. It’s actually on my next album,” Kelly shared, before singing a line of it.
Kelly added about how Garth‘s song has resonated with her for many years but she never truly related to it the way she does now.
“I was bawling,” she said, “because it is true, there’s a lot of loss, a lot of grief and a lot of change, especially if you have kids.”
“All the books were helpful…it’s so funny, I guess because I’m a musician, I was listening in my room [crying] and I was listening to ‘The Dance,’ I got the point,” Kelly added. “Sometimes that’s so crazy … you’ve known this song your entire life and you freak out when it actually is a direct impact.”
Kelly and Brandon‘s divorce is getting a bit messier, as he is now asking for a lot in spousal support from her. She has also hit back with claims that he defrauded her throughout the years as well.
However, Kelly has been awarded primary custody of their two children together, River and Remington.
