Kelly Clarkson Opens Up About Being Unhappy in Marriage to Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson is opening up more about her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

On her talk show earlier this week, the 38-year-old singer had author Glennon Doyle on to discuss her new book Untamed, which follows the breakdown of her marriage to Craig Melton and finding love with soccer player Abby Wambach.

“We’re trained to believe to avoid at all costs a broken family,” Glennon said, adding that she remained in her first marriage until she realized, “Oh my God, I’m staying in this marriage for [my daughter], but would I want this marriage for her?”

She continued, “We’ve all been trained to believe a good mother is a liar. I didn’t leave a marriage in spite of being a good mother; I left because I am a good mother.”

Kelly then replied, “That’s what I needed to see to make a step in my own life.”

She then went into talking about her own divorce from Brandon.

“This isn’t happiness, and we both deserve better,” Kelly recalled. “That line so hit home for me: I don’t want this for everyone in this scenario right now.”

Kelly also revealed the hardest part of her divorce.

'The Voice' Contestant Ryan Gallagher Was Disqualified From The Competition

The Voice is missing one of its contestants.

According to reports, Ryan Gallagher has been disqualified from the show after “violating COVID protocols”.

The singer was one of the few selected to be on coach Kelly Clarkson‘s team this season and was vying for the last spot in the live rounds.

However, when the winner was announced, he was no where to be found and host Carson Daly explained, without further details that Ryan “had to exit the competition.”

TheWrap reports that a person close to production revealed that Ryan was removed from the show after violating the show’s rules surrounding COVID-19 safety. NBC had no comment on the reasons for his exit.

Ryan shared earlier in the season that his mother and grandmother had both been hospitalized with coronavirus, and fans assumed that was the reason for his sudden exit.

However, he told fans on Instagram that wasn’t the case.

“Thanks you everybody for your concern for my family,” he shared. “However everybody’s fine, that’s not the cause of what happened tonight on ‘The Voice.’ I didn’t drop out of the show. Details are still to come, I’ll keep you posted.”

It was just revealed that this popular judge would be returning again for season 20 of The Voice.

Glennon, you you write about the public fallout from your divorce – I’m obviously going through one right now. It’s horrible. There are so many hard parts,” she explained.

Kelly Clarkson Awarded Primary Custody of Kids in Brandon Blackstock Divorce As 'Level of Conflict Between Them Increases'

Kelly Clarkson has been awarded primary custody of her children with her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock, River Rose, 6, and son Remington Alexander, 4.

The couple are currently in the midst of their divorce proceedings.

“The Court finds that under the circumstances present in this case, the interest in providing stability and continuity for the minor children weighs in favor of Petitioner having primary custody,” documents read (referring to Kelly), via People.

The document referenced some drama between the former married couple, adding that “the level of conflict between the parents has increased. The parties have a difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them.”

Kelly apparently will allow Brandon to visit the children at her home in the Los Angeles area.

There has been some other family drama, apart from the divorce, in the past few weeks.

Kelly filed for divorce in June of 2020. They married in 2013.

“Even at 38, I feel like I’m always changing and progressing — in a good sense, in a good way — and I always want to make sure I’m being the best version of myself. My mom’s been telling me since I was a kid: ‘You are who you surround yourself with,’” she explained.

“You want to make sure you’re surrounded by people that also want to be the best versions of themselves and also want a good common goal for everyone, not just themselves, right?” she continued.

“People could be bad for you in a certain time. And I think that everybody just goes, ‘Oh, well that means they’re bad.’ Well it doesn’t necessarily mean that, it just means that you’re on different paths. And I think that that’s okay. Everybody’s on a different learning curve, and everybody’s learning something different at different times,” she went on to say.

At the same time, Kelly is currently involved in a lawsuit involving her ex’s father.
