Nick Cannon is defending himself.

The 39-year-old star, who was fired from ViacomCBS for anti-Semitic commentary, took to Facebook on Wednesday (July 15) to defend himself against the allegation that he “promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.”

He demanded “full ownership of my billion dollar Wild ‘N Out brand that I created,” asking for an end to “the hate and back door bullying” – and an apology.

“I am deeply saddened in a moment so close to reconciliation that the powers that be, misused an important moment for us to all grow closer together and learn more about one another. Instead the moment was stolen and highjacked to make an example of an outspoken black man,” he said.

He said he even reached out to ViacomCBS chair Shari Redstone “to have a conversation of reconciliation and actually apologize if I said anything that pained or hurt her or her community,” but was met with silence.

However, according to THR, a rep for the exec says that claim is “absolutely untrue.”

A ViacomCBS spokesperson released a statement.

“ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism. We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him. We are committed to doing better in our response to incidents of anti-Semitism, racism, and bigotry. ViacomCBS will have further announcements on our efforts to combat hate of all kinds,” they said.

He recently said he “can’t hold a candle” to this person in his life.

Nick Cannon Says He 'Can't Hold A Candle To' Ex-Wife Mariah Carey

Nick Cannon is opening up about his marriage to Mariah Carey, which started in 2008 and officially ended in 2016.

In a new interview with Variety, the 39-year-old entertainer spoke about their decision to tie the knot only after a few weeks of dating, welcoming their twins, Monroe and Morocan, and what he still thinks of her now.

“We talked everything out. What if this and what if that. We talked about how much fun it would be if we just got married three weeks into knowing each other. It was more that whimsical fantasy idea of let’s have as much fun as we possibly can and when it no longer feels like fun, when it feels like a task and a job, then we should amicably be able to move on,” Nick said.

He adds, “I always used to say it [the relationship] worked so well because it was a healthy balance. I had no problem falling back. It was never a competition with me. It was like ‘I’ll turn mine off so she can turn hers on.’ I was comfortable in myself and who I was.”

Nick also revealed that he and Mariah weren’t the couple you would catch in a fight.

“I can’t ever remember us having arguments and there being negative energy of ‘This isn’t working’ and all of that stuff. We had very sensible conversations,” Nick said.

To this day, Nick still admires Mariah and has an amicable relationship with her.

“I mean, it’s Mariah Carey. How am I supposed to be?” he shared. “She’s one of the most talented women to ever this planet. I can’t hold a candle to that woman.”

Nick Cannon Says His Children 'Fear Police' - Watch (Video)

“My children fear police. I try to teach fearlessness. I try to teach, ‘You have a power within you that you need to fear nothing.’ But when they see the energy of law enforcement [it's like], ‘Uh oh, here comes the police,’” he revealed.

“So that mindset of, ‘Sit up straight and don’t talk, keep your hands where they can see them’ — these are things that I’m talking to a 3-year-old about [and] 9-year-olds about; they bring those questions to me,” he went on to say.

Nick is the father to 3-year-old son Golden with ex Brittany Bell and 9-year-old twins with ex Mariah Carey, Moroccan Scott and Monroe.

“It’s something that’s hurtful to have those conversations with your children, but you want to protect them at the end of the day,” he went on to say.

He also reflected on his own thoughts about police growing up.

“It wasn’t about safety, it was like, ‘Somebody’s in trouble.’ It’s never been a good experience,” he recalled.

“And that’s why I say we gotta rethink and restructure what law enforcement is, specifically in our communities. Law enforcement should be from the community. There was a time when we were able to ‘police’ our own, and have sovereignty…and when we have the ability to self-govern and have a strong moral compass that comes from your community, you shouldn’t have to have someone overseeing you,” he continued.
