BBC Reporter Claims Princess Diana Was His Source for 'Smears' of Royal Family

Martin Bashir is the BBC reporter who interviewed Princess Diana back in 1995 and who has been accused of lying to her in order to secure the interview.

The infamous interview included Diana‘s mention that there were “three of us in this marriage” with Prince Charles, referring to his future with Camilla Parker Bowles.

An investigation into Bashir was launched last year amid allegations that he lied to Diana in order to get her to agree to do the interview. Now, Bashir is claiming that Diana herself was the source of “smears” against the royal family.

Diana‘s brother Earl Spencer says that he noted down some allegations against the royal family that were said during a meeting between the late princess and Bashir, two months before the interview aired.

New York Post reports that some of the “smears” included that the “Queen was ill and on the verge of abdication, that Prince Charles was in love with his children’s nanny, and that Prince William wore a Swatch watch that contained a bugging device.”

Leaked documents that were released by The Telegraph show that Bashir claims that he did not make up the “smears” during the meeting and that Diana made those remarks.

Prince Harry Remembers Mom Princess Diana For A Book For Children Who Have Lost A Parent

Prince Harry is remembering his mother, Princess Diana, in a moving forward he wrote for “Hospital By The Hill”.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, the 36-year-old Duke of Sussex penned the special introduction for the book, which is meant for children who have lost a parent during the coronavirus pandemic.

It tells the story of a young person coming to terms with the loss of their mother who was a frontline worker at a hospital.

“If you are reading this book, it’s because you’ve lost your parent or a loved one, and while I wish I was able to hug you right now, I hope this story is able to provide you comfort in knowing that you’re not alone,” Harry wrote in the opening chapter.

He continues, “When I was a young boy I lost my mum. At the time I didn’t want to believe it or accept it, and it left a huge hole inside of me. I know how you feel, and I want to assure you that over time that hole will be filled with so much love and support. We all cope with loss in a different way, but when a parent goes to heaven, I was told their spirit, their love and the memories of them do not. They are always with you and you can hold onto them forever. I find this to be true.”

“Now, I never met them, but I know this person was special to you, and they were someone incredibly kind, caring and loving because of where they chose to work. Helping others is one of the most important jobs anyone can ever do. You may feel alone, you may feel sad, you may feel angry, you may feel bad. This feeling will pass. And I will make a promise to you – you will feel better and stronger once you are ready to talk about how it makes you feel.”

He concludes, “I hope this book helps remind you of just how special your parent or loved one was. And how special you are too.”

“Hospital By The Hill” will be released to coincide with Britain’s National Day of Reflection, on March 23, and is free of charge to any child or young person in the country who has been affected by the loss of loved ones to COVID-19.

Harry, and his older brother Prince William, were only 12 and 15 when Diana tragically died in a car crash in Paris.

It was recently reported that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been living off of the money he inherited from Diana.

Prince William & Kate Middleton Share Mother’s Day Cards Their Kids Made for 'Granny' Princess Diana

Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (AKA Kate Middleton) are honoring Mother’s Day in the UK.

The royal couple shared cards made by their children – George, 7, Charlotte, 5 and Louis, 2 – in celebration of the annual holiday, made for their “granny,” the late Princess Diana.

A Long-Rumored Story About Princess Diana Was Just Confirmed by Loni Anderson

Loni Anderson is opening up about some long-standing rumors!

The WKRP in Cincinnati actress made a virtual appearance on Andy Cohen‘s show Watch What Happens Live and addressed a rumor about her ex-husband Burt Reynolds and Princess Diana.

One viewer asked Loni if it was true that the then-Princess of Wales sent Burt a thank you note for helping to keep her out of the tabloids by monopolizing headlines with news about his divorce.

“Yes, that’s true,” Loni confirmed.

“No way!” exclaimed Andy.

Loni and Burt‘s separation was one of the uglier divorces in Hollywood. The pair married in 1988 and adopted a son together, Quinton. They announced their split in 1993 and a contentious legal battle ensued that played out in the media, with Burt slamming Loni‘s parenting and accusing her of infidelity.

Princess Diana also had a tumultuous year in 1993. In January the infamous “Camillagate” tapes surfaced, phone recordings of Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla. By December of that year, Diana had announced her plans to retire from public life.

Andy then asked Loni to address another long-standing rumor that she once maxed out Burt‘s credit card with a $45,000 limit in 90 minutes, one of the claims her ex-husband had made against her during the divorce.

“No, I never had an Amex from Burt,” she replied. “I only had my own, so no, that would be completely false.”

Princes William & Harry Will Still Attend Princess Diana Memorial Together This Summer

Prince William and Prince Harry might still have some tension between them, however, it’s reported that the brothers will attend the Princess Diana memorial unveiling this summer in England.

A royal expert named Russell Myers revealed on British talk show Lorraine that the event is moving forward and will take place this summer, with the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex in attendance.

“I can exclusively reveal that William is still committed, as is Harry, to get together on July 1 for the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue at Kensington Gardens,” Russell claimed. “This could be a monumental period for the brothers.”

William and Harry commissioned the statue, which will stand at Kensington Palace, three years ago and it will mark the 23rd anniversary of Diana’s tragic death.

“The Princes hope that the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on their mother’s life and her legacy,” read a statement from Kensington Palace at the time.

The memorial will “recognize her positive impact in the UK and around the world.”

The news comes just after William spoke out about Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle‘s tell-all interview with Oprah, where accusations of race were addressed.

Here’s what he said…

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Have Been Living Off His Inheritance From Princess Diana

Prince Harry revealed that he had been cut off financially from the royal family upon his exit last year during his sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, alongside wife Meghan Markle.

This left many fans to wonder just how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were getting money from and Harry answered it.

He says that he and Meghan have been living off the inheritance left for him by his late mother, Princess Diana.

“I’ve got what my mum left me, and without that, we would not have been able to do this,” Harry shared after speaking about how she would have reacted to him leaving his royal duties behind.

He added that he also thinks Diana probably saw him leaving “coming. I certainly felt her presence throughout this whole process.”

After her tragic passing, Diana left an inheritance for both Harry and his older brother William in a trust, which totaled about £14 million, which is about $19.3 million. It was expected to be divided equally between them.

After the brothers turned 30, they gained access to them and since Harry is now 36, he has access.

In a newly released clip from the interview that did not air during the broadcast, Harry opened up about the current status of his relationship with the royal family and if anyone had apologized to them. See what he said here…
