Prince Harry Thinks Mom Princess Diana Would Be 'Very Sad' About His Fallout with Family

Prince Harry is opening up about what his mom would think about everything going on with the Royal Family.

In his interview with Oprah, the 36-year-old Prince said that he thinks the late Princess Diana would be “very sad” that he and Meghan Markle had a falling out with his family.

“I think she would feel very angry with how this has panned out, and very sad,” Harry said. “But ultimately, all she’d ever want is for us to be happy.”

“I think she saw it coming. I certainly felt her presence throughout this whole process,” Harry added later. “I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side. Because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her, going through this process by herself all those years ago.”

“It has been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we had each other,” Harry said, while squeezing Meghan‘s hand.

Criminal Investigation Into 1995 Princess Diana Interview Ruled Out by Police

A criminal investigation is being ruled out.

British police said on Thursday (March 4) they had ruled out an investigation into the 1995 BBC interview with the late Princess Diana and journalist Martin Bashir, via ET Canada.

The investigation request came after complaints from her brother Charles Spencer that she had been tricked into taking part in the interview, which brought in more than 20 million viewers in Britain, with the use of forged documents.

In the interview, she admitted to an affair and gave other details of her marriage to Prince Charles.

Last November, her brother said the BBC had failed to apologize for forged documents and “other deceit” that led to the interview. Prince William also released a rare statement supporting an independent investigation.

“In recent months the Metropolitan Police Service received correspondence alleging unlawful activity in connection with a documentary broadcast in 1995. Following this detailed assessment and in view of the advice we received, we have determined that it is not appropriate to begin a criminal investigation into these allegations. No further action will be taken,” Commander Alex Murray said in a statement.

This news comes at a time when her son Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle are about to sit down for a highly anticipated interview, which is already making headlines.

Prince Harry Reveals His Late Mom, Princess Diana, Influenced His Royal Exit

Prince Harry will be opening up about his late mother, Princess Diana, during his sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey alongside wife Meghan Markle.

In a new sneak peek of their first interview since stepping down as senior royals, Harry has revealed that his fear of history repeating itself was a reason for his and Meghan‘s exit.

“For me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side,” he says in the clip, referencing what he might imagine happened with his mom, Diana.

He added, “I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us but at least we had each other.”

Diana died in 1997 after being injured in a Paris car crash while being pursued by paparazzi.

Harry previously spoke about the amount of pressure he and Meghan both felt in an interview with James Corden, which aired just last week.

Harry and Meghan‘s interview will air on March 7 on CBS.

Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in 'Spencer' - First Look Photo!

Here’s your very first look at Kristen Stewart as the late Princess Diana in the upcoming film Spencer, which has begun filming!

Here’s a synopsis of the film, directed by Pablo Larraín: December, 1991: The Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage has long since grown cold. Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. This year, things will be a whole lot different.

The film follows Princess Diana as she spends the Christmas holiday with the royal family at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk and decides to leave her marriage to Prince Charles. Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, and Sean Harris also star.

Kristen said of the movie, “Spencer is a dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life. It is a physical assertion of the sum of her parts, which starts with her given name; Spencer. It is a harrowing effort for her to return to herself, as Diana strives to hold onto what the name Spencer means to her.”

Kristen previously revealed why she was “nervous” to play the role.

Kristen Stewart Says She's 'Protective' of Princess Diana As She Prepares for New Movie 'Spencer'

Kristen Stewart is gearing up to play Princess Diana!

The 30-year-old actress recently chatted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! about playing the late royal in the upcoming biopic Spencer.

“I didn’t grow up with her maybe in the same way, I was really young when she passed away,” Kristen shared, before admitting she feels “protective” of Diana. “I feel sort of the same way about her. It happened really quickly.”

Spencer will be centered around Diana realizing her marriage to Prince Charles is coming to an end during her final Christmas holiday weekend with the Royal Family at their Sandringham estate.

Kristen was only 7-years-old when Diana was killed in a tragic car accident in Paris, and said that all she could recall from the tragedy were “the flowers” laid in front of Buckingham Palace in her honor.

“I was really young, [I] didn’t know what was going on,” Kristen said. “It’s hard not to feel protective of her. She was so young.”

Kristen continued, “I mean, everyone’s perspective is different and there’s no way to get anything right because what is fact in relation to personal experience.”

“My movie takes place over three days, and it’s this really poetic internal imagining of what that might have felt like rather than giving new information,” Kristen continued. “We kind of don’t have a mark to hit, we just also love her.”

During another interview with The Wrap, Kristen said that she watched the new season of The Crown, which followed Princess Diana‘s first few years as a member of the Royal Family. She was played by Emma Corrin in the Netflix series.

“I feel really lucky to have ‘The Crown’ because I’ve emotionally invested in people that to me feel — like, I know that they’re real people, and there’s ample material to reinforce that and sort of remind yourself of that,” Kristen shared. “But now I feel this emotional attachment to these characters and I have this accompaniment that I can go to sleep with and feel like, ‘Oh, God, I already I already have feelings about these people,’ That speaks to the show’s credit.”

Season four of The Crown ended in 1990, while Spencer will be taking place in the early ’90s.

“Luckily, there’s no overlap time-wise, and also historically, and tonally, they’re very different, so I’m really cool with it,” she said. “There’s this idea that it could be horrible that we had like two of the same things at the same time. But they do feel so different.”

Production for Spencer is set to begin in late January in London.

A Prince Harry Source Is Blasting the Latest Reports About Him & Prince William

A source close to Prince Harry is speaking out in response to criticism over his silence on the controversy surrounding his late mom Princess Diana‘s Panorama interview from 25 years ago.

A new inquiry was launched to investigate the circumstances that led to Diana‘s interview with BBC journalist Martin Bashir. The news network has hired a team to investigate whether unethical tactics were used to secure the interview.

For those that don’t know, this was a famous interview as Diana said there were “three of us in this marriage” to Prince Charles. She also spoke of her relationship with army officer James Hewitt.

Prince William released a statement on November 18, but Harry has not commented on the matter. Will said, “The independent investigation is a step in the right direction. It should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and subsequent decisions taken by those in the BBC at the time.”

Prince William Releases Rare Statement on His Mom Princess Diana's Infamous Martin Bashir Interview

Prince William has released a very rare statement about his mother Princess Diana and the controversy surrounding her 1995 interview with Martin Bashir on his show at the time, Panorama.

It has been alleged that Bashir created fake bank account documents to try and convince the Princess’ brother to give him an interview with her. The fake bank account documents allegedly suggested that Princess Diana‘s closest confidantes were being paid off to release information about her to the press. An investigation is now taking place to discover if this is true.

Prince William released the following statement to People, saying, “The independent investigation is a step in the right direction. It should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and subsequent decisions taken by those in the BBC at the time.”

The Princess was famously very candid in that 1995 interview where she discussed her bulimia, her failed marriage to Prince Charles, raising her two sons in the spotlight, marrying into the royal family, and more. The Princess died less than two years later.

Prince Harry also recently spoke publicly about their late mom.
