Exciting Update on Sam Heughan's Odds to Become Next James Bond

Sam Heughan‘s hot new film SAS: Red Notice is a must-see new movie and it has fans demanding he become the next James Bond after Daniel Craig retires.

Well it looks like Coral‘s oddsmakers agree with the fans because his odds just became 2-1 to land the coveted role, only one behind other favorite Tom Hardy.

Sam also recently spoke to Esquire UK about the rumors and if he’s interested in portraying 007.

Sam said, “I think any actor would never say they’re not interested. Of course, you’d be interested. I mean, it is all rumours, and sometimes you think, should I, should we even talk about it? Because you don’t want to jinx it. I’m sure the people, whoever runs [Bond] – you know, Barbara Broccoli and Eon and all that – they must be sick of it; people sort of throwing their hat into the ring. But yeah, he’s a great character, and would be certainly be a fascinating character study and place to kick off. But I think in SAS we have our own authentic note based on real life scenarios, we have our authentic character, so I’d love to explore this one more.”

Sam Heughan Now Knows How to Kill Someone With a Cell Phone

Don’t mess with Sam Heughan!

The 40-year-old Outlander actor spoke to Digital Spy about his new action-thriller movie, SAS: Red Notice.

The movie is based on Andy McNab‘s bestselling novel of the same name, in which Sam plays suspended special forces operator Tom Buckingham. He prepped for the role with the author to learn the military skills needed – including the deadly skill of killing someone with a mobile phone.

“It’s in the movie – killing someone with a mobile phone. How do you do that? Andy will tell you exactly how to do that. He’ll show you as well – which is awful,” Sam explained.

“It’s kind of scary to be with someone who has these abilities, who has this experience. But also someone who’s so charming and outgoing and open about it. It’s fascinating. You can’t help but be swept up and intrigued by his world. I know that we worked really hard to make the movie really authentic,” he went on to say.

“This is all very true, you know? These mercenaries, these grey areas of political maneuvering. And then the characters as well – which side they fight on. It’s really dictated by the game, and the rules of the game.”

Sam Heughan Reveals How He Convinced Graham McTavish to Go on a Road Trip with Him for 'Men In Kilts'

Sam Heughan is giving fans an inside look into his show Men in Kilts!

The 40-year-old Outlander star opened up about filming his new show with his co-star Graham McTavish.

“I love Scotland. I’m Scottish. And I realized I wanted to create a TV show around Scotland and the Highlanders of Scotland,” Sam said.

He added, “I somehow convinced [Graham] to go on this road trip with me. I think I just promised him lots of fine meals and a five-star hotel, which he got none of. Meanwhile I try to put Graham in precarious situations ’cause he really isn’t a fan of being out of his comfort zone. So it’s comedy gold, really.”

He also shared a sneak peek of the latest episode, which focuses on witchcraft and superstitions.

“We love to burn witches [in Scotland], it’s one of our favorite pastimes,” Sam joked. “Actors and comedians are also considered untrustworthy, so you might be a contender to be burned at the stake.”

Sam Heughan Dishes on Going Skinny-Dipping on New Show 'Men in Kilts'

Sam Heughan is chatting about his new show Men in Kilts!

In the new Starz reality show, the 40-year-old actor and his Outlander co-star Graham McTavish travel around – while wearing kilts.

During a recent episode, Sam loses a bet to Graham has to strip down and go skinny-dipping in a lake.

“We were on the Isle of Lewis, which is one of the most northwest islands in Scotland. It’s very remote, so there wasn’t anyone around, fortunately,” Sam shared about the experience with People. “I don’t know if I want people to hear this, but it actually wasn’t that cold. We have the Gulf Stream, which comes across the west of Scotland and means we have actually palm trees in Scotland. It’s obviously not warm like Los Angeles or Hawaii or something, it is still really cold. But not as cold as you would imagine.”

Sam also revealed that the skinny-dipping was able to help him cure hangover after a night of drinking.

I did actually have a hangover that day and I have to admit as soon as I jumped in the water, I felt so much better,” Sam said. “So there’s something to be said for it. However, as soon as I got out of the water, I got eaten alive by midges, which are a Scottish kind of mosquitoes. So there was really no joy.”

During another recent interview, Sam Heughan confirmed that he and his brother were named after characters from this book series!
