Sam Heughan Looks Back at His Hallmark Christmas Movie from 2011, Which is Now on Netflix

Did you know that Sam Heughan starred in a Christmas movie for Hallmark Channel before his Outlander days?

Back in 2011, Sam starred in A Princess for Christmas, which was about a young woman (Katie McGrath) who travels during the holidays with her niece and nephew to a far off castle at the invitation of an estranged relative, only to find herself falling in love with a handsome prince.

Sam recently spoke with Parade about the movie, which is reairing on Hallmark Channel this holiday season. It’s also streaming on Netflix!

“I think I am a better actor now, but I love that movie,” Sam said. “I got to work with Roger Moore. He is one of the most famous Bonds and it was incredible. All of those jobs are the precursor to what I am doing now. I met great people. Interesting, my butler in that (Miles Richardson), he was in last season of Outlander. He played one of the redcoat officers and Tim Downie, who last season played Governor Tryon, also played my butler in a Tennent’s advert, so we have a great photo where I am with my two former butlers who are now redcoats.”

Sam Heughan's Dream Role Is This Other Famous Scot!

Sam Heughan is opening up about one very famous Scot that he’d love to play on screen one day.

While promoting his new travel show, Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, the 40-year-old actor shared that MacBeth would be his dream role.

“I love Macbeth. Actually, in Men in Kilts we do visit some interesting places that are connected to the story of Macbeth, whether it’s true or not,” Sam shared during an Instagram Live interview.

He continues, “There’s a lot of superstition and dark tales that Shakespeare used in Macbeth, [like] witchcraft, which obviously is a big part of Scottish history as well. We explore all of those things. So I think Macbeth.”

If you didn’t know, Sam has starred in MacBeth before, but he played Malcolm instead.
