Joel Osteen has secured some major star power for his virtual Easter service.

Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and Tyler Perry will all be appearing in the Lakewood Church’s Easter service, streaming on Sunday (April 12), CNN reports.

The Houston-based mega church will be hosting it’s “Hope Is Alive” Easter service, with the service being pre-recorded this Friday.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo and Houston Fire Chief Sam Pena are set to tape prayers for the city.

Kanye was supposed to join Joel during his Church Service at Yankee Stadium, but the event was postponed because of the health pandemic.

Tyler Perry is doing something wonderful.

The 50-year-old Madea star graciously paid for groceries for dozens of seniors amid the global health crisis on Wednesday (April 8).

“CONFIRMED: @tylerperry paid for all groceries during Seniors Hour at 44 Atlanta-area @Kroger stores. Look at these faces — you can see the smiles and tears through the masks!” WXIA 11Alive’s Brendan Keefe confirmed on social media.

“He performed a similar act of kindness in his native Louisiana, 11Alive’s New Orleans sister station also learned,” he added.

Tyler Perry is helping out restaurant workers during this extremely difficult time.

The 50-year-old entertainer stopped by a Houston’s restaurant on Sunday (April 5) and left a massive tip for the workers there.

Tyler left a tip of $500 for each of the 42 out-of-work servers, giving a total of $21,000, TMZ reports.

According to the workers, Tyler is a big fan of the restaurant stops by there frequently to eat.

Tyler Perry is speaking out following the results of his nephew Gavin Porter‘s second autopsy.

The 50-year-old Madea’s Family Reunion actor told TMZ that his family has received the results from Dr. Michael Baden.

“I spoke with Dr. Michael Baden today after he finished the autopsy on my nephew,” Tyler also wrote on Instagram. “I was relieved to hear that he is 98% sure that there was no foul play in his death, just as Sheriff Gates stated.”

“Answers don’t take away grief, but they surely give room for grieving to take its course,” he added.

Tyler‘s nephew allegedly died by suicide in a Louisiana prison at age 26. He was reportedly in solitary confinement after getting into a fight last weekend and was found dead on Tuesday night.

Gavin was serving a 20-year sentence for shooting and killing his father in front of his mother (Tyler‘s sister).

Tyler Perry‘s 26-year-old nephew Gavin Porter is dead after allegedly committing suicide while in prison and now the actor and filmmaker is speaking out with the family’s concerns.

Gavin was serving a 20-year sentence in prison for shooting and killing his father in front of his mom. TMZ reported that he was found hanging in his cell from a bed sheet this week.

“There is an active investigation at the prison’s request. We are currently awaiting the results of an autopsy. The initial investigation did not suspect foul play. We are also conducting an investigation into the fight which occurred earlier and Porter‘s involvement in that incident,” a rep from the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Tyler and his family have decided to request an additional autopsy and they are continuing to say this was an “alleged” suicide until they have more facts.

Mariah Carey is there for her longtime friend Tyler Perry!

The 49-year-old entertainer joined the 50-year-old director and producer at the premiere of his new movie A Fall From Grace on Monday night (January 13) at the Metrograph in New York City.

Stars of the film at the premiere included Bresha Webb, Cicely Tyson, Crystal Fox, Phylicia Rashad, Matthew Law, and Mehcad Brooks.

Gayle King was also in attendance.

Here’s the movie’s synopsis: When gentle, law-abiding Grace confesses to killing her new husband, her skeptical young lawyer sets out to uncover the truth.

A Fall From Grace will debut on Netflix on Friday, January 17.

Jennifer Lopez and Awkwafina were just two of the stars totally snubbed from the Oscars 2020 nominations list, and Tyler Perry isn’t happy about it.

TMZ caught Tyler out and about after the nominations were announced and he said, “I’m upset, man.”

“JLo didn’t get nominated! Are you kidding me? And Awkwafina! She should have got nominated,” Tyler said.

JLo was expected to be recognized for her work in Hustlers, and Awkwafina, who won the Golden Globe this year, was expected to get love for The Farewell.
