Warner Bros. Officially Confirms Mads Mikkelsen as Johnny Depp's Replacement in 'Fantastic Beasts 3'

It’s official – Mads Mikkelsen has joined the Harry Potter franchise!

The 55-year-old actor will be replacing Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts 3, Warner Bros. announced via IndieWire.

Johnny departed the film franchise after losing his libel case against The Sun earlier this month.

Mads is best known for his roles in the TV show Hannibal and movies Casino Royal and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He also recently wrapped filming on Chaos Walking opposite Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley.

Fantastic Beasts 3 – also starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, and Jude Law – is currently in production outside of London.

If you missed the news, Johnny is still making a massive salary for the third movie.

Netflix has cast Colin Kaepernick‘s parents in their new limited series!

Nick Offerman and Mary-Louise Parker have been cast as the 33-year-old former NFL player’s parents Teresa and Rick Kaepernick in the upcoming series titled Colin in Black & White, Variety reports.

Colin in Black & White will be a six-episode series focusing on the football player’s “early life as a Black child growing up with a white adopted family and his journey to become a great quarterback while defining his identity.”

The series has already been written and Colin is set to provide narration for Colin in Black & White.

Michael Shannon Joins Brad Pitt in New Movie 'Bullet Train'

Michael Shannon has joined the star-studded cast of the upcoming movie Bullet Train!

It has been announced that the 46-year-old two-time Oscar nominee will be joining the new assassin movie starring Brad Pitt, THR has confirmed.

David Leitch, who directed Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2, will be directing the action thriller that also stars Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz and Andrew Koji.

The film is based on the Japanese novel “Maria Beetle” and here is the synopsis, via Deadline: “Five assassins find themselves on a fast moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. They discover their missions are not unrelated to each other. The question becomes who will make it off the train alive and what awaits them at the terminal station?”

Zachary Levi to Star in Family Drama Movie 'The Unbreakable Boy'

Zachary Levi has booked a new role!

The 40-year-old Shazam! actor has signed on to star in the new inspirational true story The Unbreakable Boy from Lionsgate, Deadline reports.

Here’s the synopsis: “Based on the book by Scott M. LeRette with Susy Flory, The Unbreakable Boy follows Austin, a kid born with a rare brittle-bone disease and autism. But what makes Austin unique is his joyous, funny, life-affirming worldview that transforms and unites everyone around him – especially his dad, Scott (Levi), who changes his life as he comes to see Austin not as the symbol of something broken, but the triumph of an indestructible spirit.”

Jon Gunn is the screenwriter and director behind Zachary‘s new movie.

Camila Mendes & Maya Hawke to Star In Netflix Dark Comedy 'Strangers'

Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke are teaming up for a new movie!

The 26-year-old Riverdale actress and the 22-year-old Stranger Things actress will be starring in the upcoming Netflix movie Strangers, Deadline reports.

Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the movie “is described as a subverted Hitchock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls. It follows Drew (Alpha, it girl) and Eleanor (beta, alt girl) who, after a clandestine meet-cute, team up to go after each other’s bullies.”

Over the past few months, Camila has been busy filming the new season of Riverdale in Vancouver. The show is set to return in January 2021.

Elisabeth Moss to Play Former Congresswoman Katie Hill in New Movie

Elisabeth Moss has a new role lined up!

The 38-year-old Emmy-winning actress has signed on to play former Congresswoman Katie Hill in a film adaption of her memoir “She Will Rise: Becoming a Warrior in the Battle for True Equality,” Variety reports.

The movie is being produced by Blum along with Elisabeth‘s production company Love & Squalor Pictures. The movie is intended to be released on a streaming site.

In the book, “Hill recounts her experience as a young woman with no prior political experience whose charm, and common sense won over the people in her district and thrust her into the halls of power in Washington. While her brash confidence won her powerful allies and infuriated her enemies, it was privately concealing a cycle of domestic abuse she was trapped in at home, infamously culminating in the release of intimate photos and the revelation of her own admitted personal mistakes that would eventually result in her stunning fall from grace.”

“I am so honored to have the opportunity to portray Katie and to help tell her story,” Elisabeth said in a statement. “Her strength and work to amplify women’s voices is incredibly inspiring to me and her experiences could not be more important for us to magnify right now.”

Robert De Niro & Machine Gun Kelly to Star in New Movie 'Wash Me in the River'

Robert De Niro and Machine Gun Kelly are teaming up for a new movie!

The 77-year-old actor and the 30-year-old rapper will be starring in the upcoming movie titled Wash Me in The River, Deadline reports.

The movie directed by Randall Emmett “focuses on a recovering opioid addict who seeks revenge on the dealers responsible for selling the drugs that resulted in his fiance’s death. Two cops are hot on his trail.”

John Malkovich is also set to star in the movie while Quavo is in discussion to also join.

Production for Wash Me in The River is set to begin production in November in Georgia and Puerto Rico.

Randall recently restarted production on the upcoming Midnight in the Switchgrass in Puerto Rico, which stars Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox.
